AK for me. I'd keep it and just walk the Earth.![]()
She would only see the FFBM or the RMJ Tactical Eagle Talon, so she would think I only kept one.
The rest would be stashed in the woods along with the guns and ammo I "sold".
This likely won't be a popular response, but personally, I would keep my swamp warden. It's the cheapest of my collection and if I was really in need of taking care of my family, everything valuable would go. My wife is far more important to me than my collection. I can always replace the knives when i get back on my feet.
For the new guys who haven't heard this story:
My then 21 year old daughter was lying in a nursing home in a vegetative state from a hit and run. Doctors were telling us she would never be any better. My custom shop Active Duty arrived. I took it to the nursing home, held it in front of her eyes, and told her I was storing it away until the time she could carry it deer hunting with me. I told that story on this forum. About a week later a package arrived with another, identical AD, and a note from Jerry and Jennifer saying that they wanted to replace the knife I had given to Kim.
That Active Duty is the number one candidate for the Busse that I will never get rid of.
(She made that first hunting trip with me two years ago, by the way. Not yet up to her pre-injury shooting standards, but with her .243 she can stay in 5" at 50 yards, so that's our self-imposed range limit at present on deer. Inside 50 yards, it's hers. Past 50 yards, it's mine.)
