Here is my advice...There are bad knives. Knives which misrepresent their material and build quality and are often so poorly made as to create a hazard for the user. Many Pakistani made knifes are in that category, as are other cheap imports where the blade breaks away from the handle or fragments under pressure. The classic Home Shopping Network sword accident is an example of this. But, even when there is no direct injury, the knife can fail leaving the user in a lurch without the tool they had relied on.

Hmmm...I have a few that are bad. Either so poorly constructed that they fall apart, or bad heat treat that makes it near impossible to create an edge that's not butter.
