Easy, easy. The guy that sold that and then insisted that it was all good. Is an honest gentleman. lol

I disagree there certainly is such a thing as a bad knife.
Back in the early 2000's a friend of mine got jumped by a group of 5 armed with bats and all that he had for defense was a cheap Pakistani copy of a buck folder.
They set about trying to kill him with the bats so he pulls the knife and delivers a slash to to one of his attackers midsection and the blade folds over backwards and barely gives the guy a scratch.
A group of onlookers came to my friends assistance and chased the wannabe murderers off.
When the law arrived they were disappointed at the knifes performance and shared the opinion that it was a shame that the attacker did not get gutted as he had it coming in their opinion.
The very next day i bought my friend Ken a Buck 119 fixed blade as a present.
He didn"t go to jail. Guys didn"t beat him to death and this is example of "bad" knife? Please! :-)

Right.

I like the OP's enthusiasm. I'm as guilty of being jaded as anybody else could be, and it's easy to dump on somebody with a low post count who shows up with a knife that (to us) shouldn't get the kind of praise they're putting on it. I've made questionable purchases in the past, and I learned from them.

I don't always agree with the consensus opinion of what a "good" or "bad" knife is, but in a rare demonstration of self-control, I'm not going to pour fuel on that fire.

As for the assertion that there is no such thing as a "bad" knife? Well, if your goal is to make a profitable product, which you call a "knife", and enough of those "knives" are sold to make a profit, then from a sales and marketing perspective, that "knife" is not "bad". Even if it's the size and shape of a tuna can, and I can't say that I wouldn't consider buying one and trying to bash it through a loaf of bread, just for the novelty.

If we all stand in a circle and explain why we think something is a "good" or "bad" knife, we'll find nearly as many different points of view as there are participants in the conversation. My opinion is that if it cuts stuff, and the OP likes it, then it's not "bad".

Remember that opinions are worth what you pay for them.
