There will be a Muk!!

Just looked @ that MUK and IMHO ..... Yuck:thumbdn:

an INFI blade and either micarta or G-10's will hopefully make a big difference......

Sometimes when you see a great knife offered by a sister company you gotta figure Jerry's looking out for the little guy, saving you $150 or $200 on a knife that doesn't need to be made of INFI to work well. This'll be perfect in 154CM, and probably have a stronger heat treat than any 154 out there. I'm stoked... :)

I'll be watching for the SY Muk. I'm sure a Busse one will come along at some point.

That's the way I see it, too. No, it isn't as pretty as one with micarta handles. As for the Busse 154CM, my sharpest knives are made of it. It is hard to sharpen, but takes a super edge and holds it very well. And those mudder handles feel a lot better than they look.

it seem's the kin folk have beat busse to the punch again. first the rat trap, now the nessmuck. i might get one of these just to beat it to death. but i am still waiting on the bussmuk

Beat it to death ????,,,,,send it to Noss,,,,,probably would'nt last 3 minutes,,,,,,,,,or even less,,,,,,,,,,lmao(it ain't INFI)

All contempary Busses are to my knowledge made of INFI and nothing less. You must mean 'Busse Family', as in a Swamp Rat 154cm;) There is a great distinction made between INFI and all other steels; so as to not mislead anyone new to the Family the point needs to be made.

I am a big proponent of the nessie and was eagerly awaiting the release but this model doesn't do it for me. I really like the fact that there is no choil but the geometry of this blade is too upswept for me.

I was merely distinguishing the performance of Jerry Busse's heat treated 154CM to others. We all know that all new Busse Combat Knives are made of INFI.

Would probably be quite a good game processor,,,,,nice deep belly ,,,,,,, not too long,,,,,,but the look just does'nt do it for me.

when i say 'beat it to death" i mean use it like the sole's of my boot's. take it with me every were, through every thing, and it still better ask for more. also prop's to noss, he could tell ya what a "good" knife is!

Well I am going against the grain here but I am gonna get one. I like the blade shape overall and 154cm is a good steel land I have the two other knives from the Yard in it and its done just fine. Its not going to be as tuff but it'll prolly cut well with that grind and belly.

Hopefully Jerry does come out with an INFI version because I would rather see this in something different than a stainless. But for now I will take what I can get (which is probably the business plan like above mentioned).

What would be particularly useful about a Nessmuck for most of us who do not cannoe the Adirondaks? Is it cool looking... sure, but not exactly nostalgic. What can a small Nessie do better then most other knife designs one might carry on a regular basis? I can only project that it would be a pretty good skinner, which is not something I do all that often. I have heard it makes a great spoon....ah...ok... Anything else? I really want to like this knife, but at first glance I don't like the grey handle, 154cm would not be my first choice even though Jerry has layed his magic upon it, and can not figure out why this knife design should usurp the place of some of my other edc blades? Help me to see the light fellas?

AI

In addition, tell me what INFI will do for this small 4" blade. Are we planning on splitting wood with it? Hacking down a forest? If it's a skinner/slicer/kitchen knife (where I can see it excelling - I sorta like it), you don't NEED INFI. It's properties are almost wasted in that.

(This from the man with 15 GW's - so shaddup! LOL)

I'm thinking if you put a convex edge on it it could be an interesting slicer.

If you don't like it, don't get one, AI. The Nessmuk style isn't everyone's cup of tea. I would say that the curved blade will skin and maybe chop vegetables better than some other designs, but if I didn't like the look of it, I would not spend $100 on it.
