"There's More Than Corn In Indiana" 5K Tradeaway

Usually I don't play these. I don't have a custom SJ and I'm not going to be in a good position to even look at it anytime soon, so count me in! Micarta and D2 are a few of my favorite things, and she's pretty to boot!

Good grief Kerry!!! What a great idea, I wont join in, as I got the other thing going..but what a beaut of a knife.
Fantstic generosity...good luck guys, its going to be great watching this go!!

Congrats on the 5k! That is a unique looking knife; I like it! I do have a question. Why does it say Wilfred Works on the other side? Is the blank from them, or is it a collaboration?

In honor of (nearly) breaking the 5k posts barrier, I am putting up this 4 1/8" D2 corncob jigged canvas micarta-like BackPocket as a way of saying "thank you" for being the folksy yayhooz you are and putting up with my antics.

Kerry,

While not wanting to be considered for an entry I wanted to say what a class act this is. And by the way, part of the reason I check this forum every day is to see what your latest antics might be.

Also very creative on the scale treatment and overall execution on the knife.

Woah! That's a serious knife right there! I have the feeling I'll win this one, so I'll dig in the folksy pile to fing something to trade...:D

:thumbup::thumbup:

Hi Kerry,

Oooops, never mind, I don't qualify. :( Too bad, as that knife is a beautiful example of American craftsmanship at its' best.

I've been trying to steer clear of giveaways recently but I don't yet have a custom slipjoint and I've been wanting to get a blade in D2, I can't pass this up.
Please put my name in the hat if you would sir.

Amazing tradeaway Kerry!
Thank you so much for the chance. I AM IN!:)

Steven

Count me in.

Something folksy may be a challenge, but I'll come up with something...

Kerry, your humor and your contributions to this forum are eclipsed only by your knifemaking skills.

For all you do, this shot's for you (18 yr Elijah Craig). :D You da man, and count me in!!

If I win, I hope Bourbon is considered folksy.

"There's More Than Corn In Indiana"
Yes there is. I left a pair of shoes somewhere in downtown Bloomington on a three day bender, I mean a friends wedding, in the late 80's but that's a long story.

I'm sure I can find something folksy for you if I get lucky enough to hit this lottery.

Congrats on 5K!

Ohmygoodness yes, bourbon is definitely folksy!

Dang Kerry, that's one fantastic knife! (And fantastic pics too!)

That's quite an example of folksy generosity :thumbup:

Wait a minute, this was posted on April 3 not April 1 so it has to be real! Cool!

This is most generous of you Kerry!

I was trying to think of what I could offer you that was folksy. I tie most of my own flies. If that is folksy enough, I could offer you a dozen flies to start off with and then a supply of them whenever you want more. I was thinking I could send you some largemouth bass fillets (gotta catch them first) but not sure they would keep on the way from Texas to Indiana. The USPS Priority Mail box would probably stink something bad by the time it got to you. Heck, even if I don't win, I will send you some flies anyways to add as background for those pretty photos of all those pretty knives.

Thanks for the chance!

I've gotta jump in here with congratulations on 5K, and many thanks for a chance at such a sweet blade!

I cannot ignore such a corny giveaway, by our ignominious punster, and part-time knife maker!
Thank you Kerry, for putting up this wonderful piece of Dorothy's Kansan dream (even though it is Indiana where you tread!). Please count me in!!
In return I will send you something so folksy, you will shuck and jive in your little red shoes for a week!

Bourbons good, but I'm thinking more along the lines of a hitch and set of axles off of a mobile home. All the best homes are getting them. :D

If not, I could probably come up with something a little cooler. Thanks for the chance. Whoever wins this terrific knife will be a very happy camper
