Gun safes are ugly.
Gun safes advertise the fact that you have guns.
All safes can be cracked.
In the 18th century, high end furniture often contained secret compartments with the concept of: if they can't find it, they can't steal it.
Thus, I have designed and built what is possibly the coolest safe in the world.

I welcome your feedback.

Thanks!
Matt

That is very cool and very well done

Problem is I'd need a whole room of book shelves to secure all my Guns etc :)

You did a wonderful job

Holy crap!! That is impressive!

Ever since I was a kid I was always fascinated by hidden trap doors and stuff such as this!

I love what you did with incorporating the magnet with the accessibility of the storage, that is genius!

And last but not least the book case itself is gorgeous! I think you should start a business! I had no idea it was going to have that much storage either

Hey Matt - whats your street address, and when are you going on vacation? Just wondering.

That is an impressive safe/cabinet. I agree with you, hidden is good. And the cabinetry looks meticulous.
The main reason that gun safes are so ugly is because they are heavy gauge steel. Yes, people know they're there, but they are hard to crack, really hard to break, and fire resistant.
I don't see any steel reinforcements in your safe.
Do you have safeguards for when they DO figure out that's where you keep the good stuff? Will it take more than a breaker bar or hammer to bust in? Or in the case of a home fire?

Better than what I currently have, in both respects, so I'm not knocking it at all - but if I'm going to invest in a safe, I want to know it's safe.

LOL - I forgot to show in the video that there is a way to lock the unit with a key so that even the secret opening methods don't work. But my address is: The secret underground bunker across the street from yours... :)

One of the best examples of a multi-functional piece of furniture I have ever seen.

Could it possibly be incorporated into a wall unit on hidden casters so you could slide it away from the wall.

I'd be willing to bet the "rich and famous" would pay a healthy sum for a piece like that.

awesome work, along with all the hidden the compartments, the craftsmanship is also awesome good job, now just pm me with a price and start building mine!

I'm impressed. That is very cool. How long did it take you to build that? And, what's the price range once you decide to start selling them?
