Very cool, but as your own avatar is that of a firefighter, I don't see it being very secure in case of fire.

The main reason I use a safe is for fire, but this one is really cool.

That is an awesome idea, I really like how you have to know how it works to get it open and the fact that it is in plain view. The bookcase looks really nice too, great job!

Very impressive work. The designs are very imaginative, but I'm gobsmacked by the whole package!

Personally, I wouldn't used something like this for storing my collection of weapons because of the risk of loss in a fire. However, I can see this as a way of safely storing weapons throughout the house so that they are readily at hand should you need one. Having a pistol or carbine safely away from curious children, but still quick to get to, would be a serious plus.

I would equate this with the difference between Cover and Concealment always being talked about in tactical circles. Both are good and should be used as you can.
