They're closing in Munk

You ever get up close and personal with one?

The Zoo in St. Paul has a similar deal where you can be nose-to-nose with them through glass. Last year I finally read the Zoo's posted information and discovered these tigers are a whole lot bigger than African lions. All this time I just thought the Lions on display were runts, but apparently not.

Waaay back in the Day, The San francisco Zoo had just installed one of those windows, several inches thick lexan, on the the Lion house. We were there on a Friday afternoon after work, the window's construction having just been finished. I, showing off to the girlfriend, sauntered right up to the window. The alpha female didn't care for that. She WAS about 30 feet away looking right at me. Then she flexed. In a blink, she was two inches off that window, her spittle fogging the glass. Big roar. A real Darwinian experience: weakened the knees for a minute, raised hairs all over.
Years later, the big cats paid that window no heed at all....

Did someone say up close and personal with tigers. Here's some of Asia, when she was a teeny tiny. This is from a few years ago, she's bigger now
