Thick blade folders.

That is one sharp looking blade sir. Is there a specific name for that custom model?
I recently obtained a custom from Ray Laconico. This large folder has a 3/16ths inch thick blade. Very strong.

With a full flat grind it cuts very well.

I just mic-ed my thick folding knives, and they rate, thickest first:
1. 0.196" Boker Haddock (Boehler N690 - heavy hollow grind)
2. 0.160" BM 630 Skirmish (S30V)
3. 0.158" BM 755 MPR (M390)
4. 0.157" ZT-0551 (El Max)
5. 0.156" ZT-0301 (S30V)
6. 0.141" CRK StarTac Umnumzaan (S30V)

Then - I had to measure my 'little' Boker PryMate fb - a ~Wharncliffe of 2.75" edge - N690 and, like the Haddock, an aggressive hollow grind - but a 0.276" spine!

Don't forget the HEST folder. It's the thickest I have at the moment. Those T-5000's are insane.

He should just rename his folders like this one TANK5000. or at least thats what the T should stand for. That thing is such a beast....and it has one of the coolest blade stops ever!!!!!
This think is just solid as hell... funny thing is it's the "small" T5000... small and this knife don't really go together. LOL

That's an interesting design for sure. Based on the picture, that back piece looks like it acts as the stop pin and the lock is a regular frame lock. Is that right? It looks crazy tough, but if that piece in the back is the stop pin, I can't imagine why that would be more solid than a regular stop pin between two solid pieces of titanium.

Lol, thought my new SERE 2000 had a pretty chunky blade but it seems I was tripping when I look at the likes of the T(ank)1000 - but that Laconico is a really beautiful knife, what are the scales exactly?

As far as my edc's go, blade thickness ranges from .125" (which I consider thin), with the majority being in the .157" range. My thickest is the Retribution I at .200".
