When it comes to hard-use knives(Outdoors), i'd like my blades to be nice and thick. I don't know too much about knives but the thickest knives i found are the Becker BK2, Esee 5, and some knives from Tops. Do you know any other "thick" knives? Couldnt find any knives thicker than 1/4 inch. BTW some photos would be nice.

Busse and cold steel make some over 1/4 inch. Himalayan imports also makes knives that are very thick.

I tried looking at the Busse knives, but they dont have the knives. I was thinking of buying the Busse FFBM, but on their website they only have one knife for sale.

Daniel Fairly knives, Horton knives
Dan

Believe it or not, Daniel Fairly & Jeremy Horton have done several ones that are even thicker!

Busse only does runs of a few knives at a time. If your interested you have to go secondary market like the for sale forum or a dealer. The scrapyard regulator is inexpensive compared to the Busse knives but very thick and impressive. If you can swing it, custom is a good way to go.

There was a nearly .5" thick custom that Noss d-tested. Can't remember what it was called. Think it was a Dan Keffeler in 3v.

Himalayan Imports makes them up to an inch thick! Most of them average 1/2" thick.

Horton made one out of 1/2" stock once.
HI has a lot of blades in the 3/8" - 1/2" thickness range.
Cold Steel does 5/16" thick.
Ontario's Ranger knives come in 1/4" (RD series)
Condor has some that are 1/4" at the handle then distally tapered.

I have a Scrap Yard Knife Company Regulator its a bowie blade made of SR101 (think 52100) and its o.33 thick - thats 1/3 of an inch - its a BEAST.

Seriously? I fail to see the point of that, but if someone wants it enough I guess, there's reason alone to make it. As to the OP, I was going to say Busse too, but tons of people beat me to the punch.

Yes seriously, but those are the larger khukuri. They have their uses.
Don't knock it, til you've tried it...;)

I have an early Jeremy Horton Camp Blood (#5) that is .32 inches thick.

I have a HI khukuri that is 5/8" (.625") thick at the spine.

Don't know how easy it is getting these from Horton nowadays, but plenty of HI choppers to be found.

Here is a picture of the big knife.

ps. a while back Uncle Bill had placed a special custom order for an Hi customer. A part of the message requested a blade width of ~4". However, the translator misunderstood and the factory received an order for a 4" thick blade. They called Uncle Bill and asked him if someone really wanted a 4" thick kukri which would have been about 14' long! :D
