ps. a while back Uncle Bill had placed a special custom order for an Hi customer. A part of the message requested a blade width of ~4". However, the translator misunderstood and the factory received an order for a 4" thick blade. They called Uncle Bill and asked him if someone really wanted a 4" thick kukri which would have been about 14' long!![]()

I'd think a blade that's near 1 inch in thickness must have some crazy hollow grinds. I imagine the blade looking like a "T" if viewed head on. I can't imagine a V grind on a blade that thick. The edge would be way tooo obtuse for anything more than splitting logs like a wedge. I'd bet a khuk with a thick blade like that (hollow ground) would make a mean chopper though. Lots of weight behind it to generate force on impact.
Any close ups of that big knife, particularly of the grind? Getting curious here.
