Wow d2eux , that's one big a$$ knife ! I'd also say that the scrapyard regulator at 5/16" (.320) is about as heavy duty as you want to cart around with you . If you can break even a 1/4" think knife made by any decent company , then you're doing something wrong , or using too big of a hammer .

^^^ Yes, this. 3/8" or 0.375" thick. Ontario RD6 Signature Series is what i have. S7 Tool steel.
Here it is compared to my 1/4" thick BK2.
As you can see, thick knives can be VERY sharp, no matter what some say. LOL
They just might not slice as well in some things, but certainly split wood better in some cases.

I made a wrong move with my Signature Series RD6 and cut the $hit out of myself, and quick. I love the fact that it's S7, maybe someday I'll really put it thorugh some hard work.

I don't wear it when I'm off the property as TX has a 5.5" blade limit, but otherwise, very often.

Have you seen Tuffthumbz' video on his Jeremy Horton Shawty? That thing is INSANE. The thickest I have are a BK2 and a fake Cold Steel Black Sable, both .25" Runner up is my Boker Albatros; 5mm.
