I pulled out my collection today from a drawer in my dorm room. Now, keep in mind that I don't usually keep my knives accessible (they're usually in a lock box) but I had took a picture of them for the form a couple days ago and neglected to return them. When I opened the box my CRKT M21SF was gone. My iPod was still in my drawers as well as a digital camera, surefire, gold chain, etc... But my M21 was gone. I'm so pissed right now. We always lock our room since my other roomies have had stuff stolen too.

I'm a little worried that someone might do something stupid and leave it to get me in trouble considering they glossed over more expensive items. One roomie seemed to be specifically targeted for a while: his computer was vandalized and hacked, some of his stuff has been stolen, his passwords stolen and misused, etc...

I talked to my dorm sup and RA but no-one who's had stuff stolen has had it recovered.

I'd like to get a new one even though I didn't carry it much, but I'm pretty broke right now so I can't afford to replace it.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

EDIT: Yes, I just noticed I misspelled Thieves. It wont let me change it now.
Thank you for your sarcasm Tanizaki

I'm sorry but it doesn't really make sense for somebody to steal one knife and leave all kinds of other valuables.

Much more likely that you've misplaced, or perhaps somebody borrowed it without asking?

That's what I'm hoping. But I did pretty much cover my entire room looking for it. I also explicitly remember putting it back (to fit in the box they need to put put in a certain way). And I hadn't touched it since.

Anyways, sorry for making you read that. I'm just very frustrated.

No you have some arsehole kid who steals because they were not taught properly by their parents. These losers are not the type who will clean you out and certainly don't have the guts to actually pull scores like a real criminal. They steal from their friends and family ,their workplace and school. They probably rationalize it somehow. I would get a spy camera or you are going to have stuff stolen for the rest of your time there and worse this person
is going to get through university and into the work force. Buy a camera and get more than one instance of he or she stealing. Then take it directly to the cops not the school.
After they are charged then make the school expel them. Don't let the school sweep it under the rug or this sociopath will be doing this for years.

I have way more respect for real criminals than the turds who only steal from people who trust them.

I fully agree with unsub, backstabbers are the worst, 'cause they use your trust against you. I would get one of those hidden cameras if I were you, or even set up your web cam and watch from another room, maybe a computer at a library or something.

A single knife is still an odd thing to steal if it's a person you know. It's not that easy to move and if they want to keep it for themselves you will surely catch them with it.

You could sell an iPod or Digital Camera in 5 minutes for way more money.

I've still got my fingers crossed that it will turn up for you :(

I would wait a bit before making accusations against any suspects. A few weeks ago, I was convinced that our cleaning lady stole my Buck 110. When I asked her if she knew where it was (in a friendly manner), she walked across our family room, opened a box that my boy keeps all his junk knives in - and there it was! She thought that she had put it where it belonged.

Hopefully, it will turn up for some unknown reason.

I'd reccomend getting a camera as well. A guy I know recently got a tiny wireless camera off ebay for next to nothing.

Too the average person yes, but that's not always the case. I have a friend who is a cleptomaniac and he only takes what appeals to him the most. Then he leaves the other things hoping that his victim won't notice the missing item. He explained this during a counciling session. :(

Some clown probably just borrowed it without asking. You'll probably get it back with the tip broken off where he used it for a screwdriver or to open a beer bottle. :(

That's a drag, man. I know what it's like. Back when I was in college I had a Victorinox Explorer nicked from my dorm room, and a cherished Schrade Old Timer Middleman Jack too. Whenever college guys post here on the forums asking for advice on what knife to get, I always try to steer them away from anything too high-dollar. A) It's likely to get stolen if you live in a dorm, and B) You're in COLLEGE! Get a SAK and use the rest of the dough on beer, books, travel, chicks, hot wings, whatever! :D

Yep, dorms are full of thieves. I too had knives stolen from my dorm room when I was in school. I think I know who did it, but I didn't have any proof. Luckily, it was nothing of any real value.

That's a real bummer that you got ripped off. I too suggest a SAK with both a bottle opener and a cork screw....some women just need more wooing than by beer alone:D Plus, a SAK is cheap and won't scare all the sheeple that your college is bound to be full of.

I'm guessing it will turn up. Knives tend to slip into places you wouldn't expect. I've found a couple that I thought were long gone.

If it was stolen, chalk it up to experience and lock it up better next time. You might also want to lock up your lock box, or it might grow legs and skeedaddle. If there's a way to bolt it off or chain it off (if that's not already the case), I'd go that route.

P.S. You spelled thieves correctly, but you wrote "had took" (had taken) and misspelled "form" (forum). Just FYI.

Hopefully it'll turn up, try to be keep a positive attitude about it.

P.S. T'whovever you are, I hope you'll hang around long enough to realize how we do things around here.

My dorm has never really had this problem. I'm in my 4th year at a very conservative Christian school in a very close knit dorm. Not to say that nothings ever been stolen but this year has been really noticeable. I wish that I had the money for a spy cam though. Maybe i can rig my handicam on a time delay...

ETA: I think a mod edited the title to the correct spelling. It was deff wrong yesterday. Thanks ____!
