Thieves!!!

In my university here in south texas, knives are a must have and so are multi tools. Almost everyone, including me, wears boots, jeans, t-shirts, and of course the knife. A lot of people are wildlife majors or engineers so we all have our knives of choice. Knives are tools first, and then if needed, self defense weapons. There is a long forum about knives as tools and weapons. People on campus carry books around everywhere, but that could easily be turned into a club, have you ever seen a biology book, that thing could KILL!

I pulled out my collection today from a drawer in my dorm room. Now, keep in mind that I don't usually keep my knives accessible (they're usually in a lock box) but I had took a picture of them for the form a couple days ago and neglected to return them. When I opened the box my CRKT M21SF was gone. My iPod was still in my drawers as well as a digital camera, surefire, gold chain, etc... But my M21 was gone. I'm so pissed right now. We always lock our room since my other roomies have had stuff stolen too.

One more reason to stay out of school

Stuff can get pinched in the college scenario, but, could you have misplaced the blade after a night out on the town? I am sure that more than one of us here has lost a few knives or forgotten where we hid them.

Imagine the horror of finding your mint Randall missing! A buddy of mine had some work done at his home two summers ago. The crew was doing some kitchen cabinets and he had one of his Randall blades in the back of a lower drawer. Likely that piece is in another collection by now. Beware of sneaky hands that meddle in deception and greed.

I think what is worse than a dorm thief is a member of your own family. About 11 years ago when my son and daughter were in their teens I had some knives come up missing. Nothing real valuable except a Pacific Cutlery balisong. Nothing else missing so I was pretty sure it was an inside job. My daughter was having attitude issues at the time so I figured it was her. Of course nobody confessed. Fortunately as she got older she discovered her parents weren't as dumb she thought. All I can say a lock on our bedroom door solved a lot of problems after that. I do regret not having that balisong anymore.

I dont live in the dorms at my Ubi but if I did, I would only have my edc and wouldnt leave anything valuble in the dorm. Just too many drunk people and people tha could use extra cash. Just my opinion of course...

If you don't have a lockbox, you can just go to wallmart or whatever and pick up a metal toolbox and a bike lock. You can lock up any valuables in the toolbox with a padlock, and use the bike lock to secure the toolbox to your bed or desk, or anything large and relatively immobile.

my roomate steals my food.......but recently i had my new endura 4 turn up missing, no he did not steal it...i had it fall out in a lecture hall and by the time i realized it wasn't with me....about 5 minutes out the door, so like 10 minutes round trip... that thing had ran away....i just figured someone needed it worse than me
