Thin bladed bowie for edc

Charlie Mike: great looking knife! how often, after carbidizing, do you have to sharpen the Ti? i have also read that carbidized Ti likes a little coarser edge. any truth to that, in your experience? Screech Owl : fan-freakin-tastic! what does something that pretty run? Approximately, don't want to get in mod trouble. that knife looks as handy as an arm.(sorry about the pun) thanks, Neal

My lightest Bowie is a Mission MPS-Ti 10.The spine of the 5" Titanium blade is fairly thick, but the the full flat grind yields a decent working edge.

I second that.
Ive used my MISSION MPS Ti for a hunting & camp knife for years.
Bought this many years ago and couldnt be more happy with it.

Carbidized Ti is like hardfacing the teeth on a steam shovel bucket. I haven't used a Ti blade (exclusively) enough to tell you how often it would need sharpening.

Look at the Bastinelli Assaucalypse Compact. Not a Bowie but a close approximation with 5.5 inch blade and 3/16 thickness. Light thin sharp self defense amd general utility knife.

if you want a small easy edc check out lx_emergency's little undertakers... sweet bowie style edcs...

Take a look at SOG knives. They have a few bowie type designs that might fit your criteria.

Agree with this. The Seal Pup in its many configurations is tough, decent edge retention, and best of all, super lightweight. You'll forget you're carrying it. After I was exposed to the Seal Pup by my wife (Kabar USMC user here), I've been impressed by its performance vs weight qualities. Thinking about picking one up for myself :D

Light? Thin? EDC bowie/fixed blade?

I would reccomend the Spyderco Bill Moran.

It really is a great knife that comes with an awesome sheath and attachment. The blade is 1/8" VG10 that has some slight distal taper. It's a very good cutter with great ergos, and it weighs next to nothing. Designed by Bill Moran, made by Spyderco, what's not to like?

I'll throw another, so cheap (but in the good way) that why not give it a try? Even if you chose any other option, this'll only add $25 to the shipping cart. Excellent design, one of the best examples of this type of knives.

Just to add options and variety!
