"Thin is in!" Please recommend a HIGH QUALITY "THIN" folder.

Anyone know how thick the Lion Steel TiSpine is? That's a classy looking blade that seems sleek.

Very sleek but turns out not so thin (0.41") as the OP wants which is 0.25".

Ok, two more suggestions: First, see here. I got one as a gift, and I haven't used it much, but it is so thin it is nearly flat (minus the clip). It's a unique little thing, too.

Second--any of the single-bladed SAKs from Victorinox or Wenger. Even a Cadet is relatively thin compared to most modern folders.

Good luck in your search!

Kwon beat me to the Cold Steel Code 4. Nice and thin. I'd also suggest looking at A.G. Russell's Orca. That thing is super thin.

Opinel ! For sure.

Uh, NO. Opinels are very thick. The blades are thin, but the handles are very thick. Not knocking them at all. Outstanding values, good steel, ergos, and outstanding slicers. Most people could walk the Earth quite happily with a $10-20 knife like the Opinel, Douk-Douk, Mora, or several Victorinox models.

As far as THIN goes....The BM 530 really IS amazing, and the Al Mar UltraLights are probably the Ferraris of the thin (and light) knife world.

I have a SOG SlimJim...The bigger of the two models. It is VERY thin. It is obviously designed for cutting and not prying or twisting. It is thin enough to be a good slicer. I like the assisted opening. It rides clipped inside a cargo pocket of my shorts and I barely notice it. Its usually carried as a second knife to one of my stouter folders but I find that I use it more often than the other one...I wasn't sure I liked it when I first got it because it seemed too thin but I have grown to like it.

I'm seeing people recommend the Eros and Ripple, where's the love for the Swindle?

The CRKT Swindle is another really thin and sleek Onion design. Priced reasonably too.

I would recommend the Spyderco Centofante III, a very nice and thin gentleman's folder

love this thread btw. such a nice change from "I want a two pound knife that cuts like a pry bar, carries like a dumbbell, and is fun to flick while I sit in a cubicle all day".

Can't beat the CRKT Eros K455TXP with an extremely sharp 3" blade and titanium handle. It's a marvel of thinness and weighs a scant 1.4 ounces! There's also an even smaller K450TXP with a 2" blade weighing in at 0.8 ounces. Both use the premium Acuto+ stainless steel for the blade.

Exactly what I was going recommend.

I'm kinda surprised nobody has recommended the new ti handled damascus spyderco delica. If I were in the market for a slim solid edc blade that would be my pick. The handles are thin, flat titanium slabs, which along with the back lock design, make for a very thin overall knife. And the damascus is stainless damascus laminated vg10 so you get the classy looks of damascus, but with the performance of vg10.

Ka-Bar Dozier is 3/8in thick not including pocket clip, same as the cryo. Though the Dozier is significantly lighter.

You have received many recommendations. My EDC's are within the range of 0.420" - 0.480" handle thickness. That feels comfortable in my large hands and gives me enough gripping surface. I do NOT like skinny knives at all. Fortunately, many people have differences in taste.

Nothing beats the A.G. Russell 3" titanium lockback when it comes to thinnes.

Here's a shot of the spine of the CF version that I found on bladeforums. I believe the titanium version is even thinner:

Hi LX,

Nice! That A.G. Russell looks like a great choice in a super thin carry pocket knife. ChrisB, that first knife (link) is very cool. Thank you all for all your suggestions. I'm checking them all out.
