Recommendation? THIN skinning blade for whitetailed deer and wild hogs?

A little north of 300.00, Big Chis has done some thin blades from 10V and 4V for hunters/skinners.

I would second anything from Phil Wilson, and Big Chris. Although BC prices are closer to your price range. Contact him or go look at what he currently has available, he has his own section here on BF.

Almost forgot, Daren Sanders too, he makes some thin blades with super steel. But I am not familiar with his pricing.

If you could track down a Spyderco Mule Team in ZDP189 that would be killer, but I'd suggest looking at the Mules in general for different steel options and seeing what you find.

White River Sendero Bush. Jerry Fisk designed and tested it out, and I like Fisk's style.

It's S30V, which I guess doesn't have the edge holding you need... you set the bar pretty high compared to me, as I've done most of my skinning with a 1095 Schrade Sharpfinger over the years.

Of course, I'm no expert... just an enthusiast with my set of experiences is all.

I waited nine months for my custom Phil Wilson bird and trout in k390 and it was a bit more than $300. But it fits your description perfectly and it's performance is absolutely unparalleled.

In the famous ankerson steel performance testing Phil's knives were omitted due to off the charts domination over every other knife.

I've always been interested in trying out the Spyderco versions but I've got the real thing so it seems redundant...

Edit to add: I have not skinned any game with my b&t only used it as titled. But the bow river is a bit more upswept.

R. Scheppmann (3.5 blade). One of my favorite hunting knives.

Works well on both deer and hogs.

Not a 'super steel' as per your definition. Its A2 and does hold an edge for a looong time though.

Also relatively rust resistant.

I know its not a super super steel but the LT Wright Northern Hunter is a great Knife. Its made with AEB-L

What's ol Hard Knocks Hard Knocks use?
You name, he skins it.
Of course ol @91bravo has skinned more deer than you can shake a stick at.

I really like my small swamprat, but it's not super thin, and also not a super steel. Still my favorite skinner though. I'd also suggest to look for a Phil Wilson or Big Chris like others have said. I'll add this next one because nobody has talked about it yet and I think it deserves a mention at least....the little TRC splinter XS in N690. It's about 3.5" blade length and there's a longer Splinter model also.

Chumaman - Thanks for the info! Who is the maker and what model is it? I'd like to contact him to see if he has any still available.
