Do I win something if I guess right?

I don't own a G19 yet. I have a 17 and a 26 and have carried both of those concealed numerous times.

James - you might let Miss Angie know there's a quart of pure maple syrup sitting on my kitchen table...

My brother in law found this Mennonite place up where he owns land that sells it for $50 a gallon lol. The entire family is now stocked up on maple syrup.

This one's just about over. Somebody needs to think of a new thread. Should be easier to think of something better than, "Thine Dark Snark Prevaileth".

 Drunk guy with knives. Nice video WW.

The Bone Collector looks bigger then I imagined. Sweet folder. The Swamp Rat looks spiffy too :D

"They call me Tony Snark"
"Your momma invited me over for a little Snark"
"Its Snarking time"

my contributions before I leave for work.

Yeah, I get the impression that certain types of officer training aren't the same. The same could be said about USAFA though, or any of the service academies. We were certainly surprised that the Army training was the least intense of the bunch. We definitely thought, given the reputation, that the "Chairforce" would have it the easiest, which turned out not to be the case.

Sometimes I wonder, if my life had gone differently, if I could have made it through basic, or worse, something like BUDS or the SAS qualification march, etc. Problem was, my parents are sheeple, and had really non-accurate views of the military, and my high school counselors led me to believe that the military was for those who weren't smart enough for college. Turns out there are some incredibly smart people in the military, and it wouldn't necessarily have been a waste. I'm really good at puzzle games, and my reading speed is about 2000 pages an hour, with good retention. I'm also pretty decent at kinesthetic stuff. All of that would likely have been an asset in the military (although I might well have gotten put into a REMF position, and probably would have been grumpy about that).

But, my life went in a different direction, and I'm not unhappy with how it's going. I'm probably too old now anyways, and have too high a level of education for the military to call me up for selective service barring some massive war. Even then, our technological advantage appears to be so much greater than that of any other country that, if Congress doesn't tie our soldiers' hands with stupid ROE, I get the impression that it would be pretty surprising if we couldn't kick the **** out of anyone we tangled with, even without a major draft. I guess time will tell.

You would have definitely been able to make it through basic easily enough if you have any type of motivation at all, which its apparent you have PLENTY!!!

Basic was fun for me. I have always been pretty active and stuff like pushups and situps were never any issue... But running.... god i hate running.

Still Basic is easy enough. Worse part to me was the CS gas. And that is SO different at different places.

You would of done fine. The people that dont make it through basic are weak mentally. Not physically. That or find out due to physical reasons they cant make it. We had one guy go into seizures the first day and another find out he had Asthma in the first few days. Both were let out of the army.

bleah bleah bleah 980

Helpful thanks.

Thank you bud!!

And yea the bone collector is larger than I thought as well. It is a sweet folder though. I ended up falling a sleep in my chair for an hour or 2 this morning and my wife woke me up when she got up for work... I guess the folder was sitting in my lap LMAO

Last time i slept with a knife was when i first got my BK11 back from K9.... For a while there i couldnt put it down long LOL

Wish i brought my camera with me this morning taking my daughter to school...

After dropping her off i went a little different route home so i could stop by the store and grab a couple Pepsis...

There were 2 prostitutes out at 8am.... They looked like total death. Obviously junkies. But they looked so miserably bad... I crossed the street so i wouldnt have to walk by them, for fear of catching something LOL but they still hollered across the street asking me if i had 20 dollars... And asking every other guy that walked by the same thing. One guy literally asked 20 for both of you?.. And they stopped to think about it :barf:

Stay in school kids LOL

Thanks for the Video, WW! You just made my morning!

That sheath setup with the two Swamp Rats is absolutely sick!

Got to get after school.......:(

In case you're wondering, I actually got to play Playstation with them during their training over PSN. This isn't hearsay; I know it happened. Training was held at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio (where my wife is right now, in fact, and where we may likely end up getting deployed for a few years). And yes, I realize it's different for enlisted. But yeah, the basic officer training for the Army sounded like a real joke in comparison to what the AF and Navy ones were like. And I know there's got to be inter-service rivalry. Fact of the matter is, I have the utmost respect for those who serve our country in the military, and I don't tend to crack jokes about any branch. Not my prerogative. I've got an Army Ranger friend who says that Marine stands for "Much athleticism required, intelligence not essential," and you know, he can say that. He's put in his time, and done two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't feel that I should, you know? I'm obviously required to defend the Air Force a little more rigorously, but truth is, there's a reason I offer a military discount, and a reason why I've helped the children of veterans pro bono with college consulting.

All good info, the inter-service rivalry is mostly good natured banter between vets. I would take offense to a civilian busting on any branch IMHO they dont get it. About the officer training, correct me if I am wrong but your wife is a P.A. or a DR right. Most of the services have relaxed standards for highly educated officers going into the service, in either Doctor status or lawyers. They often go in as a CPT and it isn't the same as normal officers, or enlisted. I don't have a problem with that just explaining why your wifes training was relaxed.

Sup guys, so I went from a 1x30 belt grinder to a 1x42 and I thought that was a big improvement but then I got a wilton 2x72 and wow! I feel like he-man! I have the POWER!! I had to add a ceramic platen and tune her up a bit but man it feels good having something new to improve my skills. I went back to my 1x42 and it felt so awkward.. I just can't believe I ground down them 1/2" A2 with that 1x42

I grew up in a military family. Dad was an Army pilot, Grandfather was retired Colonel in Air Force, great uncle was a Bataan death march survivor. Me being a complete dumb ass at 18 years old kept me from joining the Navy.
I am like you Crimson, I have the utmost respect for all vets, I often wonder what my life would have been like if I had kept my nose clean and gone in for the nuke engineering they were offering.
Let me know if you end up in San Antonio. I'll buy you a beer or two ;)

Mike and Molly gets better as it goes. The first few episodes of Season 4 is freaking hilarious.
