Chech with two of mine and it seems original.
I have the same space at the lock bar
 
That is the first time I've ever seen one with a gap like that but I believe that it's a genuine CRK.
I hope that the worry subsides and that you get to enjoy using it soon.
 
Already subsided, it will be put in my pocket and used. Thanks for all the comments; I feel about $300 better!
 
I believe the lockbars are cut with waterjet now, as opposed to how they were doing it before.

I note that on the 25, there is no little notch in the corner of the cut, near the pivot. I don't have a new 21, but I am suspecting that is the case.
 
well to ME it looks good, sometimes there are changes through the years, none is perfectly exact to the next
 
Looks fake to me. I collect Chris Reeve knives every chance i get and have never seen such a catastrophe. just my opinion. btw 50 years of knife collecting experience.

I would like to see a pic of the inside of the lock and the out side showing the clip. I'm interested in the water jet cutting, but it doesn't explain why the lock face has a larger gap though. The cut would still be the same width for the full length of the cut.

This has nothing at all to do with the topic at hand, let's talk about the knives and not each other. If you can't or won't elaborate on your statement about the knife then what are we to think ?.....
 
Granted this is a small (it was in my pocket and a large is upstairs) but it has a large gap none the less.
