Think I'll ever find a PM2?

It's kinda like the shortage on HDS EDC lights. (Not as bad, to be sure.)

But now that I (finally!) have both, they are my constant companions. Tough to say "best ever", but for me, these are the best EDC knife and light I have found, by far.
You can satiate yourself with a Southard, Mili, or even a Sage while you keep looking. But don't give up the search.
 
I'm trying to get me another grey one so I can allow the one I have now to get out the safe once in awhile.
 
I'm sorry you are having a hard time finding one.

It's a hell of a knife. Got one with the compression lock in S30V at the factory sale. One of my favorites.

Easy open/close. Carries easy, so easy you can forget it's in your pocket. I like the blade shape too. Was skeptical at first, but no more.

I can see why it's hard to find one. I'd pay $100-130 for one depending on steel, etc......and feel like I got a deal.

According to Spyderco themselves, they are filling backorders, and expect to be done with those later this summer, so yeah. Just wait, and buy one for a regular price and listen to everyone complain about paying twice what they could have if they were patient lol

Not sure if they actually have them in stock but The Store that sells Knives is letting me check out with one. Ill see on Monday if its actually an in stock item right now or if I just paid for a back order.

Henry is backed up over a year, people have waited like 400 days for their HDS lights, lets not get carried away about the severity of the shortage here.

Just got an email back from them.they are in fact out of stock but the website didn't reflect that. Back to refreshing the exchange every chance I get!
 
I visited my local knife shop today and requested to order a pm2 and the owner brought out the 2013 order form and the all black paramilitary was listed as $185 msrp, has the price gone up?

MSRP is always way high. The price you're supposed to pay at a shop should be the same as it was in 2012...At least, that's what I'd imagine. I have no insider info, so take that with a bucket load of salt.
 
I saw on one sight, pre-order on the new batch of paramilitary 2's, the black g10 handled version is $111.95. I can't tell you what the price was before, but that a hell of a lot cheaper than what you can get one for on eBay right now...

Can't send you a PM but I'd love to know where you saw them on pre-order.
When I checked out with one from The Store that sells Knives they asked if I wanted to just wait until they were in stock or get a refund. The site itself didn't say anything about pre-orders though.

That's weird, when I purchased it, all I got was a confirmation e-mail. No e-mail back saying they didn't have it. If we're talking about the same store.

I know. Hence my note - "Not as bad, to be sure."

I waited 162 days for my M390 Para2 back in 2011.
I waited 418 days for my HDS Clicky and got it last week.
BOTH are very much worth the wait - As long as you have something else you can use and enjoy in the meantime.

OP, keep looking, they do turn up from time to time. Just gotta keep the eyes peeled.

I don't even know what an HDS Clicky is, LOL. I generally use a headband light so my hands are free. A PM2 in M390 sounds like a great knife, but it's hard for me to imagine a knife I'd like more than the Southard, especially a non-flipper. I've seen some PM2s for sale here and there, including over on that other unusually suspicious knife forum. The S35VN version is less expensive than the Southard, but doesn't float my boat.
 
if anyone knows where some paramilitarys might be had for a normal price please pm or email me... worth a shot right? gotta get one of these sooner or later.

I can feel that -- I waited for 6 months to get the high-CRI clicky, but it was soooooo worth it. The para is very nice knife, and as long as it is in production, we'll always get it sooner or later. Now *only* if that bladeholic in my head would listen... ;-)

They sent me an email a few hours later, actually from a person. I just got my refund today.
