It might mean the loss of my motorcycle though :-)

I'm looking at an Iron kiss and Anyang. Anything else I should be looking at? I realize used is a possibility.

Thanks

Contacted Iron kiss through email. And he replied to say he had retired. Had only his personal hammer left and it was massive.

Seriously consider what the major use of the tool will be before deciding whether to by a power hammer or press. A press may be more useful unless the main purpose is forging and shaping. For damascus, a press is probably far better ... or you could get both :)

Clay Spencer's Tire Hammer is well worth looking at-it has a small footprint, is a 50lb, and has some very versatile tooling options. You can also occasionally get in on a build workshop where a buncha folks build several, and it's a lot cheaper than buying one.
I bought one straight from Clay and drove from Northern Vt to Alabama to pick it up (also went to a platoon reunion at Benning) and I have gotten more use out of that thing, and it has saved my shoulder. Totally worth it IMO, and I paid quite a bit for it.

Very cool pics of the power hammers!
(I especially love the Birkenstocks! Great for shielding feet from sparks and hot steel! :D)

To be fair, having a hammer and press AND a rolling mill is "better" for damascus. ;)

yeah, that does suck. Another independent builder of gear with a really good feel for what his customers want and need run off to some over 55 community in Central Florida. I hope someone buys the designs and rights from him. I have heard nothing but good things about those Iron Kiss machines and the price has always been right on them for what you are getting.
Bummer, he made very good hammers.

Good to see ya on here Travis!

That photo of Cliff was taken 16 years ago when my current shop was new. He hasn't changed much at all.:)
Don, that he hasn't. Just to mess with him I took photos of him I found online (that one included) and photo shopped myself in them and hung them on the wall of my little work shop. Sent him a pic of the work shop, he got a good laugh out of it. [emoji38]
