Have you ever bought a knife that's been talked about alot and thought it was a great knife but didn't warm up to it for some reason?
I feel like this is happening right now to me with the PM2.

Pm2 is in high demand. Flip it. Get something that moreso tickles ur fancy.

And 2 months later you will regret it.

What about do you not like? Only asking so maybe we can narrow it down to what knife you might like.

I didn't like it when I thumbed open the pm2 it would slightly pinch my index finger. Other than that it was kool.

I've had a few like that. Hate getting excited waiting and then when you have it a few days it just meh. I'm on the fence myself about getting my first pm2 since everyone raves about it,but I keep putting it off just for this reason.

I keep eyeing the centering of the blade thinking it's a hair off center. Than I look at how simple the knife is with the compression lock, and thinking maybe it really isn't that strong and I'm looking for some kind of super power from the knife.

When I first bought my PM2 I hated it. I thought the handle was too thin, the comp lock pinched my finger. I put it up on the exchange. After loosening the pivot and playing with it, I came to like it. I withdrew it from the exchange, and now love it.

I don't have any problem with the pinching of the finger and I don't flick it open. I use a controlled deployment.
I don't know, maybe I'm not using it enough. Maybe I need to work the knife harder instead of just cutting string or looking at it.

Yeah... I've got a chest full of them, actually. They are all great knives from top-notch companies... well designed and well made. I just don't bond with them like I do with some others. For years now, the PM & PM 2 series have been my gold standard for an everyday general purpose folder. I was totally unprepared for how much I'd like them when I bought my first PM 1 a few years ago. Since then, I've carried ZTs, Striders, Kershaws, Benchmades, and a couple of customs, but nothing has moved the Paras out for long. The only other knives that have stayed in my folder rotation are my Benchmade Volli and a couple of Emersons. Everything else is a display item.

That happened to me with the Caly 3.5. I know it's a great knife but I just couldn't bond with it.

I feel the same way about my PM2. Great knife, dead center, sharp, smooth, handsome...but I have not emotionally bonded to it like my Blur or some of my other knives. I think I (let's be honest I know) have too many knives competing for pocket time and thus have not used it enough to get attached.

That's why I sold my zt 770cf so soon after I got it. It's a very well made, excellent knife, but it just didn't click for me. So off to the exchange it went. My advice is, don't force it, life is too short, flip it and move on. You might regret it later, but if it's a regular production piece, you can always buy it again. And feel dumb. But this is a journey, not a destination.

I can't flip it because I'm not gold member.

Get a membership, they're not that much and they're worth it. I'm in the same boat as you regarding the PM2 though. Just didn't seem to be all it was cracked up to be. Maybe I'll snag one again soon and see if it changes my mind.

I feel the same way about my Para 2. It's a great knife that has all the features I like, but I haven't developed any "sentimental" (for lack of a better word) attachment to it.

It is PERFECT for my EDC needs, but maybe that makes it a bit boring since I like to switch knives all the time to better fit my clothing and activities.

I would give it a bit more time but to be honest I really never bonded with the PM2.
Kind of doubt I will sell mine, will probably give it to one of my nephews when they get older.

There are so many great knives out there and you might as well carry what feels best to you.

Para2 is a fantastic knife, but its also the most overrated knife around. Just because 90% of the site loves them doesnt mean you have to.

If you dont like it, sign up for a membership and either sell it or trade it.

I like the PM2. The compression lock is wonderful... I also like the Caly Series in 3" and 3.5 blade-lengths. Somewhat more recently, I've grown attached to the Sage series of Spyderco. Here are a few of the Sage series. Perhaps the Sage 2 frame-lock in titanium is my favorite, but I also love the Spyderco Sage 3 in blue G10 as well as the Sage 3 in carbon fiber.
