Thinking it's a great knife but not feeling the attachment.

I caot get a liking for the Spyderco Military. I buy them on sale at the P X and give them to young soldiers who are deploying.

James, would you think it would be worth it to buy one and have it re-heat treated to a harder RC like 58?

Well... maybe. Of course that would entail tearing one completely apart and starting the build over. To have a good maker start from scratch might actually be cheaper overall, unless you really want the fullers and "sawteeth".

When Camillus went belly-up several years ago, I bought a few of their unfinished USAF Pilot and USMC Fighting Knife blade blanks through SMKW. Ground the bevels to my specs and sent them back to Peters HT with instructions to anneal and re-HT/temper to 58Rc. Came out fine as frog's hair.

I forgot to answer the OP's question, the only knife I ever had that issue with was the Spyderco Police model in SS, when I finally got one, I just couldn't warm up to it, it was too big, too heavy and more knife than I needed so I sold it, now I'm thinking maybe one in cf would work.

To tell the truth, I wasn't a huge fan oc the para 2 when I got my standard black g10, s30v. It was tight, someone at the factory poured 2 pounds of lock tight onto the pivot and it took a pencil torch and a lot of patience to take apart and fix. Still didn't really like it after that, military is, was and will be my main squeeze. But 2 months ago I got the elmax para 2 and I can't explain it but it has kicked everything out of my pocket. I can't explain it, it looks just like my black para, the fit and finish is about the same except I always round over the lock tab to make it less painful to close. It can be that its my first elmax knife, I've waited for spyderco to put out one with a good heat treat to see how elmax does and so far im impressed. I like the olive green g10 a lil bit better too but its no carbon fiber. It still barely fits in my hand hence why I like the milie better, I can fet a full grip on it but para 2 is just barely enough. So in the end, maybe I had to find the right para 2 fod me, theres a lot of them out there and you just have to find one for you. So I sold my s30v para2, thank you bf, and the green elnax has been puttinv in work for the last few months. Im really impressed with how much cardboard it cut and still cut phonebook paper cleanly.
