Thinking of a Buck 110 pro as my permanent EDC. Thoughts?

I’m a huge fixed blade guy and have a couple of old folders (benchmade and spyderco) that I Always carry. Been looking to replace my tired old benchmade that I’ve been carrying for 20+ years with a Buck 110 Pro. Also considering the classic 110 and LW nylon handle version. Like the look of the pro the best. Is the S30v blade and g10 scales worth the premium? I’m going to be carrying and using this knife everyday for typical work related things. Would love thoughts, suggestions and criticisms of this particular knife on its own merits and compared to the others versions I mentioned. Thanks, Damien.

Is it worth the premium? I'm intrigued by the lighter weight, but screw construction and an S30v blade isn't enough to convince me to spend that much. For pocket carry, I would choose the 110 Slim Select or LT. For that matter, I'll just drop my old 112 in my pocket, like I usually do.

I have many Bucks to choose from but my EDC is a Buck 110 Pro. I carried a Pro and put it in a knife case and took the brand new one and decided it is time to give it a work out. I might go back before this one needs sharpening. I have a few Lochsa's I might take and carry without the pocket clip.

I'm confused, but my vote:
110 Pro - Yes
110 Slim Pro or TRX - No

The 110 Pro with nickel silver frame, black G10 scales and S30V blade is the winner. If you used to carrying fixed blades, the slims fall short of the heft and hand feel of a traditional 110 style.

The Slim Pro and Slim Pro TRX are a little thin for my liking when I want to feel a knife in my hand.

I think I only responded 'cause when you say 110 Pro, this is what I think of.

I just got the 110 sport and I really like it. It’s the same size as the standard 110 but aluminum frame s30v blade, micarta inserts and pocket clip. It’s so light I hardly notice it in my pocket.

Edit, forgot to add, weight is 4.6 oz, and screw together construction.

The 110 Pro (Nickel bolsters with G10scales) is NOT lighter than a standard 110, nor does it have screw construction.
110 Pro weighs 7.7 oz.
Standard 110 weighs 7.3 oz.

I like the looks of the 110 Sport, except for the thumb stud.
Does it even open the knife?

That’s the one. I went with that. Thanks everyone

I wanted a traditional look, I.e. Buck 110, but with more durable scales. The nickel bolsters and pins were a must. The g10 scales are perfect for my job because the knife will get dropped hard on more that one occasion. The s30v blade is a nice touch. I wanted a nice combo of tradition and durability.

Excellent choice! My 110 and 112 Pro both see frequent carry.

I carry a 110 frequently, though a different model to those mentioned here. Enjoy and let us know what you think of it.

The Pro is an awesome knife.
Buck does have the 110 Hunter s30v Web Exclusive w/ brass and Ebony and that is a nice runner up.

I wish I had grabbed a 2nd Pro while still available.
I'm not into the take apart knife myself either.

The answer is . . . yes. Just get both a standard 110 and the Pro, then carry the one you like better.

You're welcome!
