Thinking of a Buck 110 pro as my permanent EDC. Thoughts?

Is it just me, or has anyone else seen more blade tip variation in the S30V 110s than with the standard 420HC blades? All of the standard 110s I've acquired or seen recently have gloriously pointy tips, almost needle-like. By contrast, I've seen a number of Pros and Autos with S30V with significantly less pointy tips, but a few that matches the 420HC blades.

I just got a 112 Pro to send off for a Custom and after it's done I'm going to make it my DUC (dress up carry) Buck. S30V and a nickel silver frame is a great combination for any 110/112. If Buck offered a drop point in the Custom shop for the 112 ,especially in any super steel, I would order one with finger grooves. That combination of features just seems so right!

It’s possible, I personally prefer less pointy.

Do you have a sheath just for dress-up occasions?

The 3 on the left are S30V. The 2 on the right are S90V. All are drop point.
No explanation.

Bastler I haven't picked one out yet but I like open top shieths that shows you a peek at the handle. I have seen a few that have a cutout that shows more of the handle I might go for. Open top shieth's are much easier for me to use and absolutely will not scratch the bolsters or handle. I've decided to get a horizontal carry and wear it in the front of my above left pocket.

Is the S30v blade and g10 scales worth the premium?
I have a 110 with G10 covers, and one with an S30V blade. Not on the same knife though.
My G10 handled is a SK Blades 'The Gentleman' with a drop point CPM154 blade.
My 110 with the S30V blade is an August, 2020 Web Special with Ebony covers.
The (black) G10 covers are well done, and to me, feel good in the hand regardless of the weather, or if my hands are wet.
The S30V holds a good edge. I thinned and reprofiled the edge on mine to 12 ~12.5 DPS/25 Degrees inclusive on a guided rod sharpener.. It hasn't rolled or chipped yet. I doubt it will.

I don't know what the premium is for the 110 pro. Would it be less expensive to get a 110 ftom the Custom Shop with the S30V blade and G10 covers? (Custom shop also gives you the choice of brass or nickel silver bolsters & liners, pins or no pins, and I think the option of finger grooves.

I think they’re fairly similar in price. Once the horn scales come into play, that’s the difference maker. I think around my bday, I’ll request a custom 110 w/ a drop point blade and Water Buffalo horn scales, with nickel hardware. I set it up on the Buck website on it looks amazing. About $155.

Received the 110 pro today. Everything about this knife is quality. Centering is as perfect as I can see. Opens butter smooth, with a nice audible “click”. Closes super easy, no forcing of any kind. No wiggle or side to side play. Everything is super even with no gaps and nothing is misaligned. Super happy with this knife. Pictures coming soon!

Lol easy fellas! I’m not really much of a folder guy, big fixed blades are my thing. They always have been. I wanted that one good folder for everyday use, and the 110 pro fits that bill. Now, I could use a good “gentleman’s” knife as well, hence the custom shop 110 I posted before. I have 3 other bucks: 120, 650 and 192. I really wanted the 916, but the handle steered me away, especially with my massive palms. I would love another buck fixed blade and I’m thinking 124.
