Thinking of selling all of my knives and starting over.

Recently I have been thinking about selling all of my knives and starting my collection over. The more I get the more I am trending to ordering from up and coming new knife makers. What I mean is I am thinking of selling all my factory produced knives and just buying and keeping custom knives.

Recently I have ordered knives from:

CPE Knives
David Mary
Volunteer Knives
JJ Smith
Brush Creek knives - Eric J.S.
etc...

To me having something that wasn't mass produced is more personal and more of a keep sake. Has anyone else gone through this transition? Do I need help or what?? lol

Even all my folders like Spyderco, Hinderer, CRK, Benchmade and my fixed blades including Busse Combat and Caruthers CPK, TRC, Becker, etc., I am considering factory knives now that they are so popular.

Am I crazy for wanting to sell all these???? I have at least 50 knives that I am looking at selling.

Thanks
We are crazy for owning so many knives we don't even need as it is. I share your sentiment. I say go for it. At the same time, I'd keep some of the cheaper mass produced knives as beaters or "disposable".

Apparently we have similar tase, I bought his brown caper last light and definitely considered getting the matching DP hunter too lol. I guess I should have haha. Got my tracking number from JJ as well this morning.

Definitely the more custom I buy, or semi custom, the more interested I become in them. I want to keep buying, but need to pump the brakes and sell more before I buy more. It’s not working out very well just yet 😂

These just look so good and useful. I had him make me the different color sheath so I could know which is which just by looking at them.

Up to you ultimately, but I wouldn't want to go all-handmade customs only for my folders. That's an arena where production knives shine and there are so many top shelf ones which you probably already have.

Why take the depreciation hit is my position. Just focus your swapping and acquiring on your new passion for small shop or single maker customs and forget about the production market for awhile.

Let your journey dictate how much of your collection gets churned into a different type, don't rush to cut them all in one move.

I thought about doing this. Then I thought, what would I do with all those nice custom knives?
