Thinking Zero Tolerance

I carry my 0350 every day. I would feel lost with out it.
I haven't found anything it can't do.

Cutting tape, cardboard, and shrink wrap all week long and then cutting speaker cable for the home stereo last weekend didn't even phase it. I even used it to trim paper labels for product this week along with more cardboard tape and shrink wrap. The S30V is an awesome steel.

I have no problem with the liner lock either. They are thick and sturdy.
The G-10 adds enough grip to hold on even in the rain. (found that out today)

I have a project this weekend the deals with trimming small pieces of wood and plastic. I know the 0350 will do it's job.

Good luck in your decision. Any of the ZT mentioned would be a fine choice.
On the other hand, in true BF manner, get them all. :D

It rained where i am in texas all day!

I have a 0200 coming to me soon! It will be my first zt and probably not my last:D

I like the ZT knives a lot, very heavy duty with good materials. Here is the linerlock on the 350 compared to the framelock 300. As others have said it is thick.

and here is my ZT collection.

Hmmm... I'll think I'll go first ZT 0200... later I probably get 0350 and 0500. Seems like 0200 is really mean tool but is also slightly easier to clean in field circumstances. i am pretty anal when it comes to Blade play and I want to adjust my blades just way I like it.

I do like how pivot is done in ZT 0200. 154Cm Steel, grippy handles, looks nice. Has sturdy looking lock. Is propably easy to use when gloves are on or in wet conditions.

Tyhe 0500's lock seems incredibly strong and and good but there's no quick qay to adjust pivot it seems.

After all difference between ZT 0350 and 0200/0500 is mere $14 and I paid from my 2nd hand Spyderco Caly 3 nearly as much as brand new ZT 0200 would have cost.... *makes me think hard* but Caly 3 was nearly pristine condition I love it as urban carry.

Heck Quality pays but seems like you cannot go wrong with ZT.

Thank you for the Mudd review knivesandguns. It looks really good hardwork folder. Have you taken that knife in part? I am wondering if you even can do that or do you need to ship knife into factory?

I think I found my first "Black Horse knife" of the year. (i.e. spot for knife in my list that I did not knew I would already want but I got space for 3 for this year)

All you need to adjust the pivot on the MUDD is two lengths of 1/16" rod. Just put them in the holes and twist.

I've taken mine apart several times for fun. I've never actually had to adjust this knife, though. Pivot tension is perfect, and it's never gotten dirt in the pivot.

That is extremely valuable information!

Darn it seems I'll get all three ^^... eventually ^^

Ericb, you da man!

I've never had to touch my pivot from the factory Jamppa--never had the need after 1000's of openings/closings/general abuse.

That is comforting, I just want to play bit safe. I am very familiar with Mr Murphy and his law. I've managed to get stuck under a modified T-72M Tank even the lt. supervising excercise said its impossible when I respectfully said that: " Sir, I have bad feeling about this. What if I get stuck beneath the tank?"
he just said: "Son, in my 15 years of military I have seen nobody get stuck under the tank"

So I went and crawled under beneath it and what do you know, my vest got stuck...

So I've learned to play bit safe. Mudd seems to be the knife you want to take with hard use.

I'm sure we've all had our Murphy experiences but DANG!

Like I said in my review--if I were to take one knife and only one knife with me to someplace I had no clue about where I was going, it'd be the MUDD. It's the most fail-proof knife I've experienced. It is overbuilt from the ground up, and there's really not another folder like it. Police 'round where I live swear by all of ZT's products. You can't really go wrong with any one of them.

You'll be pleased with whichever one you select

I'm very new to the knife scene but I have a chance to purchase a used but an excellent conditioned ZT 0400 Scavenger. Can anyone comment on the quality of this knife? It has a tanto plain blade made from S30V.

I can purchase it for $85.00. Is this a good deal or should I consider spending more for another of the ZT's models?

Any information, comments, suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

What makes the MUDD superior to the 0300 series?

I have a 350KW and 200KW.

Got the 200 first and carried it daily untill I got the 350. Love them both, but the 200 is pretty big for EDC, so the 350 is in my pocket most days now.

I've got some liner locks that seem rather skimpy, but these certainly are not that. Pretty darn massive yet smooth. I can't stand the esthetics of a frame lock, so I may be slightly prejudice.

What makes the MUDD superior to the 0300 series?

It's a combination of the sealed mechanism and the improved accessibility of the lock that makes me prefer the ZT0500. I'm often using this knife in dirty or very cold environments. I can still use this knife when it's caked in mud or glazed in ice/snow. I would have a hard time using the 0300 with heavy gloves or mittens on; especially one-handed.

I don't own one myself, but if its like the 0200 or 0350 that I own, then $85 is a great deal. The blade steel is top quality, the DLC coating on the blade is extremely durable from everything I've seen, the liner lock should be very stout, overall a great knife. The Tanto blade shape is kind of in the category of you either love it or hate it. If you like the way it looks, then don't worry what any one else thinks and buy it.
