Thinking Zero Tolerance

It's a combination of the sealed mechanism and the improved accessibility of the lock that makes me prefer the ZT0500. I'm often using this knife in dirty or very cold environments. I can still use this knife when it's caked in mud or glazed in ice/snow. I would have a hard time using the 0300 with heavy gloves or mittens on; especially one-handed.
I see your point. But I prefer the features on the 0300 series.

Cheers.

We each have our own preferences. My MUDD lives in my pack when I'm climbing ice and when I'm caving (caving is incredibly muddy). It is ideal for both of these tasks. The fact that I'm left-handed also factors into my preference for the Hawk Lock.
