This drives me nuts!!!

There is a ton of screw types that would be more acceptable than those. For a premium knife in this line I understand the OP’s objection. Microtech blades sell at a premium so why not function and fit. Even a button head screw would be so much better.

Not here to rattle feathers, but I do understand the undesirable fit and finish of a blade of this caliber…. There are better choices of screws even if not a functional objection

I'm pretty sure Microtech makes those screws themselves, and they're a common part among many of their knives. I don't think they see the benefit of designing and manufacturing an entirely new screw just to make the pocket clip a little better. I get that the design isn't optimal, but it's far from the only knife with such a clip design.

Yep, and that’s what separates a good knife company from a GREAT knife company!

There are virtually no downsides.
At my age and condition , there sure as heck is lots of "downside" .

Just in the difference in manual dexterity, and visual acuity , required .

Also , for me anyway , smaller breaks easier . Fasteners , driver bits , tools, drill bits ...everything .

YMMV :)

Collectors worry mostly about aesthetics
Users worry mostly about performance and function.
Decide which are you then proceed accordingly

Makers and manufacturers don't consider things like the decline of visual acuity and manual dexterity as buyers age.

But chin up.....maybe someday someone might make the "jitterbug flip-phone" version of a knife just for you.

As for "smaller breaks easier", that just isn't the case with screws.

Sorry, not sorry.

Following up with a pic to prove a point:

Two "budget friendly" knives and two NOT budget friendly knives. Guess which two have milled out spots in the G10 for flush fitting clips that also use flush fitting screws and which two don't. Sure, all four go into the pocket just fine but it feels like the two US knives would have that much nicer fit and finish feel of quality when it's the other two. One is a custom shop build and one also has a flush filling filler tab opposite if you wanted to swap sides. It's frustrating. And yes I love G10.
Perhaps the "budget friendly" knives are also the superior knives?

Put that sucker on the knife exchange, don't forget to heavily discount for them PROUD screws!

Someone recommend that I try the g10 version. I wasn’t sure what the difference would be, but one fell into my lap. I have to say the clip is different. It’s not as stiff as the white one. Same shape same screws. I don’t know if it’s a fluke or what but the clip on the g10 is much better than the other one.
Are they different?
