This grab bag thing is exiting!

Ok, this grab bag thing is rediculously exciting. I am normally the type that thinks long and hard about a purchase. Scouring the net for pics of different handle and blade color combos. Picking and then changing my mind three or four times before I finally pull the trigger on something......and then immediately thinking maybe I should have went with something different. Well, with the grab bag, Boss man has taken all of that off my shoulders and now I'll just be here on the edge of my seat until the big brown truck shows up. Lovin' this!
 
It will definitely make this forum really interesting once these things start shipping.
 
It is very cool indeed, and I can't wait for mine! I also think that for better or worse, with all the people buying grab bags with unknown blades, the marketplace is going to get very crowded. That is great for people looking to get some great deals, but not so great if people don't like a knife as much as they thought they would and want to put it up for sale without losing much money on it (from previous offerings). Regardless, it's an exciting opportunity.
 
I'm so bummed I can't spend any money on this one. The Busse crew is going to hook it up! I'm still excited to see what they come up with.
 
Another thing is that there are lots of blades that I'd like to try but I never want to buy one and just hope that I like it. Again. No worries about that to deal with.

This is a great idea because in my personally experience most people have an idea of what they want.. but usually that's because they have limited info even while having a lot of info. Most of the time we think we know what we want until someone shows us something different and then we are like...yea I want that! So this should be really nice because it will put things in people hands that they may never have had before and I think many will fall in love. They never thought they'd buy it and then after having it in their hands they'll be like I can't believe I went so long without this thing lol

This is a good point. Personally I only had a few Busse blades before this whole op 2 weeks started but I've been sucked in just because of what you have described. I keep finding myself wanting to buy the next offer that is even better then the last and stay away from some because I want to wait and see if next week will be even better. This way I will get something totally unexpected but I think this will be my last op 2 wk purchase. Unless a SAR3, NMFBM or B13 pop up.
 
Yup....I hope the small grab is a big blade....lol. I need a biggin. Might get to do tradesies after!
 
Those guys that jumped on and bought the Mystery Item I think had a lot to do with this becoming a reality. Those brave souls and the awesome way Busse handled it created a new type of excitement! I think it's cool and a great deal. $500 and guaranteed to get some with a value of at least $800, that's a no brainier! Plus knowing you could always flip it if you hated it
 
I'm in for one! I have a feeling the "post pics of your grab bag score" thread will be epic! (Though I'm pretty cure mine will be a pork shank ;))

Really neat that all of our grab bags will be different. It's gonna be like Christmas when you'd see all the cool stuff your brothers, sisters and cousins got while you waited to unwrap your present.
 
yes. I bought a $500, I have only gotten one knife off the Operation 2 Weeks cycle, so hopefully lots of good stuff will surface. I am very excited, but I wonder when they will start filling up boxes and shipping out?
 
Well I was wrong. I did start having second thoughts about my order. Started thinking that I may have messed up...........by only ordering one bag. I fixed it. Got two coming now. :D
 
I just ordered 3 $500 mystery bags :eek: big gamble, but how can I lose? :D I'm really excited about this! More excited about this than anything else on order. This'll be so fun to get a huge box of mystery Busse/kin.
 
I was just talking to a buddy about it and told him that I really hope there's a ratmandu in one of my bags. He started laughing and says "Dude, you just dropped a grand and you're hoping for a hundred sixty dollar knife.". Lol!
 
I wonder how many grab bags will have been sold when all is said and done. (I grabbed a $500 myself)

Just in the first 8 hours or so of it being available, there seems to have been a HUGE positive response, more so than any blade I can recall.

This will be one for the record books. Busse will have made tens of thousands in sales by saying "trust us, we'll take care of you". Unheard of! Seriously, has there ever been anything like this before? Not just the knife world but in general. Truly amazing...

To make it even more amazing, it was done on a week with arguably one of the best received triple offerings since op2wks has kicked off. Well done Jerry. Well done.
