This is a beer thread

A friend was able to trade for it through one of the beer sites (I think it was Beer Advocate) If you like Belgians, it really does live up to the hype. Really a great beer.

PS- The St. B Abt 12 you got tastes about 99.99% as good as the Westy, they are very similar. WHich is great since it's much easier to get! I buy that one quite a bit.

If you like Belgian beer you owe it to yourself to try this one. It's like a very rich Duvel with a head that is tight like whipped cream. YUM! Remember that name Delerium Tremens its made by a family in Belgium. Here it is $17.00 for a four pack but as a special occasion beer it is fantastic.

I miss Boulevard beer. I used to drink a lot of that when I was in the states. But luckily there is no shortage of great beer around here :)

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Rogue makes a Mocha Porter that's really a fantastic beer. It's similar to Killian's Irish Red and Guinness, with great flavor and a nice finish.

Here in Chico, we have both the Sierra Nevada and Butte Creek brewing companies. I gotta say that I love everything Sierra Nevada has to offer. I practically live off of the Pale Ale. I just had a Harvest Ale, made with fresh hops grown right next to the brewery. It was great! I've never had such a fresh tasting beer. Every beer they offer is full of flavor. I also love the fact that many of the bars here sell dollar pints of any flavor of Sierra Nevada they have at happy hour, and all night long on various nights of the week. I love this place!

(Butte Creek is good too, but I hardly ever drink it)

I went to the Yard House tonight and drank some St Bernardus Abt 12, a Chimay Strong Ale I've never heard of before, North Coast Old Rasputin Imperial Stout, and Lindeman's Framboise. All were damn good, but the St Bernardus has to be a new favorite.

I think I found the perfect dessert beer...

Young's Double Chocolate Stout

Man, this stuff is amazing. I don't know if I've ever had a smoother, creamier beer... That being said, this is not for savory food any way you slice it. It would be phenomenal with, say, something vanilla or maybe even fruity. Heck, it could even hold its own with a thick slice of black forest cake... The only downside to having both at the same time would be that you'd most likely have to be taken away in a body bag due to an extreme chocolate saturation of the bloodstream...

Anyway, get it, wait for a cool day, maybe a snowy day, and savor it with something after dinner... Or just have it on its own for dessert.

If I haven't mentioned it already, I love deep, dark beers for those cold winter nights... Sometimes they're as good as Scotch..

Oh good! I can't even begin to think of all of them. Unless I'm drunking them. Just spent 2 weeks drinking Alaskan Amber. Just enough malt with not alot of hops.

This is my personal favorite beer. However, I've been drinking beer legally since June so I'm not too familiar with Beer in general. Does anyone have any other suggestions for beers that taste simliar to this?
