I've been drinkin' Dunkin' Donuts coffee on the road and at home it's usually Folgers, I've tried Starbucks :barf: and other specialty coffees including Espresso and Cappacinos, give me a fresh cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee and I'm happy.

What are you folks drinkin' for a wakeup call and is there a better coffee out there?

i like bustelo, and pilon brand coffee. i'm puerto rican, though, so that might be genetic. :D

i generally can't drink coffee from anywhere outside the home, but mickey d's iced coffee is soooooooooo good.

Bustelo supremo. I'd just hook it up to an IV drip but people might look at me funny if I did that. I won't drink any Starbucks coffee or coffee-flavored drinks but Dunkin Donuts will do in a pinch.

My morning wakeup comes from a Kangaroo Express gas station/convience store about a mile from my house. Their
coffee is better than anything I have ever had at Starbucks.
Consistently good, which is unusual for a gas station.

You guys havent had real coffee until you have tried a Timmies...

fellow Canucks will understand

I'm well into my coffee, i only ever drink stovetop made coffe, once you'v been there you won't go back. Instant coffee isnt even allowed in my house full stop.
Coffee is one of those things that some people like X some people like Y. I personaly buy coffee beans from my local bean shop. the guy there really knows his stuff. as a result i now pretty much only drink coffee from small farms in Jamaica or Idonesia (java/sumatra) its expensive but well worth it. im open to trying anything thats interesting though.
If i NEED to buy coffe from a shop in an emergency or something i usually go for Lavzza as a standard buy or look for something that might be good. my local supermarket has a range of coffees from "around the world" and some of them can be ok. A good one for a super hit is "Red hot lava java" one cup gives me sweaty eye balls and the gitters for most of the day but its great :D!!!

I normally use whatever coffee is available except for those pre-flavored coffees, Folgers, Maxwell House, they are fine as long as you put hot water into the coffee maker, not just tap water, it seems to steam the coffee better.

BTW, what is the purpose of the lemon slice that is served with an expresso?

EXPRESSO!!??? There will be no venti half skinny half soy addshot dulce de leche gingerbread cappucino with half Splenda half Nutra Sweet for fixer27 at Tenbucks for that faux pas! It's espresso - referring to the fact that the hot water is pressed through the cake of compacted, finely ground beans under pressure. :D

The lemon is to hide the bitter taste of a poorly prepared and probably over-roasted coffee, just as some rot-gut beers require the addition of a slice of lime before they are even close to palatable. Properly prepared espresso, like properly brewed beer, does not require a slice of citrus to hide the flavor.

So can I get that venti half skinny half soy addshot dulce de leche gingerbread cappucino with some Carnation Sugar Free Vanilla Creamer please?:D

I like Double Expressos, sometimes with a touch of cream (I know) just to cool it down a touch, no sugar, none of that other "stuff"...geez...yuppies..

So your not supposed to eat the lemon slice then, you're supposed to drop the lemon in the expresso as if it were a Corona?

After drinking Bad Coffee at work for decades, I have found that Coffee does not have to taste like Styrofoam.

We generally use Folgers for "everyday"; I make a pot every morning. For "betters", we are quite fond of Gloria Jeans. They make a huge variety of course, and we only like a few. One of the favorites is Creamy Chocolate Caramel. Sounds like it would be some sort of gooey condiment fluff, eh?
Not so. It's a very good straight blend with just a hint of chocolate overtones.

At work, being at a university, I have a variety of good stuff available. The food service stuff is quite good, and we have a nice little coffee-bar across the street ("Kayaks").
Or, we can get mud for free from the service station down the street.....

well I buy beans (pre-roasted), the darkest oiliest bean I can find, grind the beans and make my own coffee every morning..... unless I am on the road, then I will take any swill I can get at the stop and robs or Denny's or other eateries.

Maxwellion House decaff!
Used to drink regular stuff all the time but for some long forgotten reason decided to switch to the decaff and have stayed with it.

This morning I'm sipping a few cups of New Mexico Pinon Coffee. Pretty good stuff. http://www.nmpinoncoffee.com/

My favorite coffee brand is Community Coffee. My default coffee is their Original Dark Roast, and my favorite "special treat" roast is the Louisianna Blend. Here's an older topic with my reviews: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=456915&highlight=community

Gloria Jean coffee isn't bad. But stay clear of their phoney flavored coffees, unless you like eating chalk.

The only Starbucks that doesn't suck is their Sumatra. Most of their coffee, especially if at one of their coffee shops, has a funny burned aftertaste.

At work I've been making "Rocky Mountain Thunder" from Boyers Coffee in Colorado. Not bad at all, and it's cheap at Sam's Club. :)

I find that Good Coffee has a lot to do with Good Water.

That's most certainly true:thumbup::thumbup:

But the best coffee is certainly whatever you make at home, in my case, I like Ethiopian Sidamo Mokka, very strong with full milk out of a large favourite cup.All that waxed cup and styrofoam stuff from take-aways&petrol stations tastes of the cup not much else:barf:
