This is a weird hobby we have.

The funny thing is that you can find similar forums for virtually any other interest. Quilting, plumbing, everything weapon related, politics, child rearing, religion, cooking, LARPing, flashlights, BASE jumping, odd sexual fetishes, calligraphy, and on and on and on. It's not that we (knife enthusiasts) are weird, it's that people in general seem to have a tendency to zero in with occasionally frightening intensity on the things that are important to them. Knife Knuts aren't weird; HUMAN BEINGS are weird :)

Exactly!

Part of the reason I like the knife world so much is the interaction I get here on BF. I mean heck, I'm on here A LOT more than I'm actually USING my knives.

Good points. You might also mention that one good thing about the forum is that people will be more careful with and respectful of their knives when they can learn about the development, history and traditions of knives - at least that is my opinion.;)

The people without knives are weird. On the other hand , us Knife carriers have the separation of matter covered which allows us to be useful , productive human beings. People without knives trying to cut things with improvised methods clearly fail every time. :thumbdn: :D

Nice post. But don't forget those of us who grew up in the 60's when every kid had a pocket knife.
The seed was planted early in us old farts and carrying a knife was/is simply the norm.

If it wasn't for this forum and the internet in general, I wouldn't have heard of zero tolerance, rick hinderer, crk, etc. blessing or curse???;)

There is a lot of worse things we could be into instead of knives......like Star Wars figures.:)

I was into reef aquariums for a few years, glad I got out of that.

although, at times, money just magically grows from your tank. Certain corals are pricey and easily cloned. Just trimming your tank can fetch a few hundred.

i don't know what i'd be doing if i didn't have a few blades to keep my sanity. maybe a fish tank.
