This is a weird hobby we have.

Ironically, with all of this talk of knives and fish, I work as a fish specialist in a pet store and have had dozens of tanks. I like the looks and sometimes knowing nods I get when I release a fish delivery with my 0550 or Gayle Bradley (marine tuff glide is my savior.)

I don't really think forums have made us more into the hobby, they just make us more knowledgeable and help us refine our tastes.

I've been carrying a knife since long before I'd ever heard of the internet but now I have the opportunity to read reviews, see pictures of a knife from different angles, in hand, being put to use, instead of just ordering blindly, or having to rely on what the local stores have in stock.
 
Oh people ask me the dumbest questions sometimes, and im not even an employee, I just happen to be asian.

'Can an oscar live with goldfish?' 'Yes but only for a few seconds' haha

I actually cut down my hobbies. I did 4x4s, civics, reptiles, crocidilians, fish, reef, planted, balcony plants, knives, and other hobbies I wont mentikn due to illegality.

civics? please tell me you didn't put one of those noise maker exhaust tips on your car. :confused: no offense but i wish they would hand out tickets for those things. :D

Opposite!

I got an apexi world sport 2 which quiets down the exhaust. Civic si actually comes quite loud factory, so I installed that to make it sound normal. At 6000 to 8000 rpms it is loud, but deep.

trust me I never liked rice rockets but I was in need of a gas saver and it was the most fun gas saver I have ever driven while reliable.

Heah, Just remember it's tougher and tougher to find quality USED-GUNS for the price of a brandie-spankie new Sebenza. It doesn't have to be an expensive hobby!
 
Very well said and I agree with you. This is a strange hobby compared to most people, but I enjoy it plus many members on here are interested in other things that I am too besides knives. Many members have great taste and are interested in high quality items which helps me relate as I like high quality items which are usually expensive. (Had to change major in college so I can get a job that will pay for my toys.) I do not have any friends or family locally that have this sickness I have, but most of the people on here do and so they do not mind when I talk about knives for a few hours straight or freak out about my new blade purchase. So this is where I come when I need to talk to people who understand me, even my friends that do like knives are still not in willing to spend over a $100 on one or if they do they only buy one a year.
 
I remember when my Wilton grinder arrived at the tool shop I ordered it from back then and the lady asked me what I was going to use it for and when I said knifemaking she gave me a weird look. Sometime later I went back to pick up an order of belts and showed the people there the knives that I made and quickly I had orders and the lady was quite surprised and wanted one for her husband too.
