Also wanted to inform you that if you do not like the quality of the knives (BRAND NEW) and/or there is a problem with the transaction, paypal must reimburst you the money so long as the transaction is under $2000. So there is no risk in this deal, I know people tend to be a little uncomfortable when not buying from ebay online when there is more than $100 involved. Just wanted to let you know also that I give up to 7 days from when you receive the items for you to return it to me if you don't like them, however you must pay for return shipping. Note how attempts to reel in the potential mark by sweetening the deal. That is a classic technique of scammers, he wants that money so bad he's trying to convince you to do it.

I wonder how many times this guy has pulled cons like this. He seems pretty experienced at it and I doubt he's going to stop until he gets arrested.

I'm one of the idiots that he scammed. I'm still in the process of trying to get my money back from paypal. I guess this is what i get for assuming the best in our human race. I try to believe that people are genuinely good hearted then things like this happen. I dont know if im super gullible or just inexperienced in buying things online from private sellers. Here's some exchanged emails between me and him:

6/14 me-I am interested in buying one of these. Is there any way of assuring they are real? I know aliexpress is selling 42 clones and alot of people are selling them on the market now as real. I don't mean to judge your integrity but ou never know.(I didn't even assume he wouldn't send me anything, what a dumbass I am)

I own two of these bad boys and they are from the same batch I am selling, I bought one and brought it to three different places in my town to get the opinions of people whom work with knives, all of em said that it was a real benchmade, then and only then did I buy the rest of the stock. I was a little skeptical because the price was so low, but the fellow was going out of business which makes sense. Anyway I have 5 left and after you buy 3 or more I take $100 off the order. It is done through paypal and you have 7 days to return it if you don't like it (from after you have received the knife not after i ship it, I will have tracking information on the package) for a full refund, you will have to pay for return shipping though. Please let me know what you would like to do.

6/23 him-Sry mate, Do not understand why they have not shipped to you yet. Called the post office today and said if they are not there by Friday (tmrw) that they will do an investigation. If there is a problem with the shipping (worst case scenario) and it was somehow lost, please do not worry, I can either send you another order or issue you a refund (I have insurance on the package so either way I don't lose money which Is why I have no problem giving you a refund or another order), I am sorry for the delay though.

Well Friday 6/24 has also come and gone and I'm empty handed.

I'm still not sure what angle he's trying to go with about this whole returning money thing. I made sure to submit all my claims as soon as a got a gut feeling this was not going right. Hopefully this all gets resolved in my favor. If not then I will chalk it up as a learning experience, take my loss, and move on.

Why anyone would consider buying a knife from anyone on youtube is beyond me

There are some guys on there that are plenty trustworthy that I have bought from and that I have sent knives to. But
they are either people I know or have a stellar rep within the knife/youtube community. Picking out a guy at random I
admit is a little shady, but I do know plenty of people who have made and done purchases/trades via youtube.

Sorry to hear about your situation TheFan. I hope it works out and you get your money

I hear that a lot. And, in theory, I suppose it's true. But, can anyone point to a real case where a knife-deal-gone-wrong has been criminally prosecuted? I'm not saying such a case isn't out there, but I've never heard of it.

dont hold your breath on this...
i and few other guys opened a complain many many years ago about a guy collecting money to get us some pretty darned cheap Starlight gun cases....it`s from before 2000 and nothing has happened.
So far it looks like he has not shipped anything so USPS can not get involved anyway.
if i have to take a guess the con actually is against PP...He opens a bank account then opens a PP account, gets few buyers(string them along few days to get as many as he can) and before PP puts a hold on the funds transfers the money to the bank account(that's what they do when a transaction is in dispute put the funds on hold) .PP can not touch his bank account, and then of course he "owns" the money to PP
Buyer gets his refund cos nothing have been shipped and the "case" never become USPS fraud...
PS he may even have multiple PP accounts and bank accounts so he can drag it as much as he can...
