I just received this and for the first time in awhile, I'm stoked! Although I usually don't carry anything but a pocket knife on a daily basis, this one may change that.

I find it very easy to operate, very smooth, perfectly centered blade, you name it. I like the blade locking system better than the systems on the other ASAP's I have, this one isn't a nail breaker like the one on the Tempest, Sirus, Rush, etc. Just a slight push on the bolster, touch the blade release lightly and bang, it's open.

I really like the color too, and I wasn't sure I would. That's just a matter of individual taste though, so others may not find it as attractive as I do. I know I don't have to comment on the S30V blade, there's nothing else to say that hasn't already been said about that stuff.

well youre post has fired my interest in this one after dealing with the safety engaging itself on my sirus and rush models. looks much better then i imagined, wouldn't know that shift mechanism was even there, sorta like a vantage with asap.

is there any play with that shift during use or does it feel solid until you want it to move?

The bolster/lock is very solid, it takes a good push with the thumb to move it to the open position. Unless you knew it was supposed to move, I doubt you would notice it. It just feels that solid. It really doesn't take much to move it either.

I wanted to say wow, that's very nice, but this thread was locked?

Knice nife Plum-excellent addition-I wasnt sure about the look of it but with your review, it may have to go on a someday list.

I'm as (if not more) impressed with how easy it is to operate and how smooth it is as I am how it looks.

Interesting knife,i'd be interested to see how long it functions after cutting sticky stuff like apples ,or gumming up the action?Neat design though, gotta like innovation!

The bottom picture that 300 lightened up really highlights one tiny flaw in the G10 just above the inlay. It's barely noticable in hand. It appears to be a little mistake when forming the recess for the shield.

I'm going to be using this one and I'm not going to let that bother me. I'll be picking up at least one more to put away in case something comes up and it's discontinued and recalled like the Sawby system was.

I saw that but decided to wait and not point it out. Would qualify for a blemish?

Possibly, but neither the box nor the knife is marked FB. For the price I paid, I'm not going to complain. It really is more noticable in the photos than it is in hand.

I'm a newbie here and sorry to ask a stupid question, but is this a current stock item? I didn't see it on the Buck website?
