Somebody put their man-pants on and name the dealer already. PM me their name and I will post it if nobody else will.
Real helpful post IF you know who the hell it's referring to, if not like myself, it was a waste of my time to read........................
This makes even less sense than the original post.I literally didn't know i could post the dealer ...had i, i would have.
Based on my description of the dealer, if you had ever visted the site, you would've known EXACTLY. who i was talking about. If you're crying for a dealer name, you most likely only want the gossip, and would have never been a buyer of them anyway, so it's no concern for you.
I'm sure many have thought what i posted but have done nothing. Let me do me the dirty work to try help save your ass, then take shots.
I know exactly who you are talking about and the way the place is run is near comical. I used to check the site every hour on the hour and I noticed I ALWAYS miss the knives I want at great prices. Then a week later I see these unique one of kind knives relisted at a much higher price than what they previously supposedly sold for. And I too have been at shows and seen every single person in their entourage win a lottery knife. Its funny because many of the prices I see things "sell" for get me to want to check the site but when these ghost knives are actually put up for sale they are priced so high I have lost my interest. Not to mention that the way they do business really puts me off. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt at first but when I have seen the same exact one of a kind knives being sold and then a week later they are back up it really has me scratching my head. I was thinking either they are completely full of it or they have a lot of collectors that turn over their collection nearly as soon as they get the knife delivered. Oddly enough the section that states "from maker" NEVER ends up saying "previously owned" for knives that have "sold". Sometimes I have wondered if they even have all those knives at all and are just using them as bait for what is actually in stock.
This makes even less sense than the original post.
Same level as when your girlfriend starts a fight,, you ask whats wrong and she say " well if you can,t figure it out I,m certainly not going to tell you"

I first want to apologize if this isn't the correct forum to post this topic. If I'm wrong, I politely asked for it to be moved.
A well known dealer has once again re-listed a previously "sold" knife, after it was "sold" in minutes of its original listing. It seems this dealer (often overpriced IMO) sells them so fast, you can't refresh at 3:05 fast enough. My below comments are based on the fact that two particular knives they "sold", were two they only received one of each of.....that's a fact. I know it for 100% certainty, as I know exactly what they were shipped, how many of each knife they received, how many were actually made, imported, and sold to said dealer (from one particular maker). You can't sell what isn't made, and they didn't anticipate an end user knowing what I know.
OK, I figured out how their system works. Below is the outline;
Knives listed at a specific time of day.
Shortly after listing, hot makers knives show "sale pending"...then in a few days "sold".
Anywhere from 10-14 days later, knife re-listed again, and in several cases, listed for a higher amount.
What's being created is a "sense of urgency" , and playing on the end user to make an impulse buy. This is about as shady as it gets. It's no coincidence this same dealer has been seen at shows "winning" 5 knives from one maker when the maker specified on ONE person, and ONE ticket per person or they would no longer be eligible for more knives in the future. Interestingly enough, the dealer has 5 different people they know all win a knife....what luck huh? This has been seen FIRST HAND. Their shady practices carries over to the selling side as well.....shocker. I also know for a fact, many of the knives are sold prior to them being listed for a lower amount. They are then listed at an amount higher than their actual sales price, but immediately marked "sold".
I haven't named any names, but I'm sure nearly all that read this can figure out who it is.
I'm not saying don't buy. But I am saying don't get sucked into over paying for a knife because you're led to believe it's the last one, or they're selling so fast.
I also want to emphasize, this isn't the same dealer I had words with in a previous past regarding custom dealers, and why we don't need them. That particular dealer has made adjustments and is playing fair.
