Eh, instead of hitting the interstates, we decided to take the old school routes. Problem was, we intended on taking the ferry across the Mississippi at Winfield, and it was closed. We then drove up to Louisiana, Missouri, and crossed the back into Illinois. Then, we were going to cross the Illinois River near Florence, only to find out it was out, then had to go north again, to Meredosia, to cross. We also stopped and ate, etc.

It is beautiful, no question. We only hiked a fraction of the trails there, as expected. It was a good learning experience for me. I took 363 photos, will have to thin them out. We went to Taum Sauk Park on Friday, the Scour Trail, and some of the Johnson Shut-Ins on Saturday, and Elephant Rocks today. A lot of walking.
