Wow! - Jack..Weren't you sayin' things had dried up over there lol.
That's quite a haul, I like the Pruner as well - a real sleek look to it than most others

Thanks Duncan :)

They had! :D As soon as I start actively looking for a particular pattern, they all seem to disappear! They come in fits and starts, but I'm determined to scoop up what I can while there are still some old knives left here!

Thanks for the thread, Jack! I've enjoyed reading about your new treasures. And you have inspired me to explore a few antiques markets myself.

Thank YOU Scott and Happy Hunting! :)

Thought I’d post these pics of what I picked up this week here. Not as exciting as last week, but ...

This Ibberson penknife is the nicest piece I think. It’s an advertising knife for Bentley’s Oyster’s of London, established 1916, with the separate addresses where 2 Bentley’s Oyster Bars can still be found, in Piccadilly and Mayfair. The knife appears to be unused, and has a nice selection of Ibberson’s blade logo’s, including the company’s famous cello symbol, and a ‘Firth Stainless’ stamp. It has ‘W 34’ stamped on the inside of one of the liners.

This Richards 3-blade Scout Knife, also appears never to have been used, and is in great condition. I actually like this one, it takes me back to being a boy, which not much does these days! With its Houses of Parliament picture, I better not put it in the same place as the Coronation knife I received from Duncan (Campbellclanman) yesterday, or there might be a danger of civil war breaking out!

I also picked up this humble Solingen-made knife, which carries no other mark other than the city where it was made.

I picked up this Sheffield –made Green River pattern yesterday, and have already posted about it in the fixed-blade thread.

And for Stan Buzek and the hammer fans, here’s a few pics of a Sheffield-made hammer I picked up today, from an old lady in her 90’s, who has spent her life refurbishing old British tools. It’s made by Swift’s and carries the War Department arrow.

No Ettricks for His Nibs yet unfortunately, but I’m off to Sheffield tomorrow ;)

Jack

You're welcome Stan, glad you spotted the post. Here's a few more out of my tool-box.

That Barlow is a Great looking knife Jack -I too like looking at hammers - I bought a couple a while ago - I used them on my Miller Bros when I tightened an re-peened it - I felt like Stan just for a mili second lol

Thanks Duncan, it's the one I brought over to Sheffield when we met, a generous present from another forum member. Glad the peening worked out, I know exactly what you mean! :D

You have been having a run of luck, Jack. You must be one happy collector.
The Ibberson is indeed the treasure of the lot!! :D
Wonder who "W" was in '34?
