I think this is really cool.

For those that asked: she makes money renting out other roundhouses in the commune to cover taxes, and buy the items she needs to get from town.

Just proof that you can live off the grid and still have contact with modern society.
 
Given the title of this forum, The Great Outdoors, Wilderness & Survival Skills, I find it surprising and disgusting that several seemingly insecure, immature and evidently less skilled posters publicly insult the person featured in the news article with their offensive sexist remarks.

I would have thought that an appreciation of the skills, imagination and perseverance required to create such a lifestyle, and actually live it for 13 years might have been respected by those on here, rather than the abuse which infects the posts.

Shame on you!
