Hey everyone, I thought it was time to show what I've been up to lately here at Terrio Handmade Knives. This thread will include some real basic WIPs, custom orders, prototypes and an occasional blast from the past. Questions and comments are welcome. If you already own a THK and would like to show it off here, be my guest! I love seeing my knives in happy homes... especially when they've been used and beaten up a bit ;)

Here's a little teaser pic from the Table O' Joy... a small batch I just got back from heat-treating at Peters. See anything you recognize? Most of these are customs for various BladeForums members. I appreciate your support!

Stay tuned, I'll be adding more pics as time allows.

I'm subscribed. Having had the pleasure of using one of your blades I am going to love this thread. By the way, the one on top and the one on the bottom really have me intrigued.

Thanks guys! I'll try to keep the thread updated a couple times a week, and mix it up so it doesn't get too boring. I generally have a half-dozen projects going at a time, so that shouldn't be a problem :D

The top one is a CPM-3V filet/boning blade at 62Rc, and very thin... about .048" before final grind/finishing. The bottom one is a custom camp knife in O1, designed by a member here.

Nicely done, James. I like the shape of the blade third-from-the-bottom.

Are you going to show your knives at BLADE next month?

Thanks! That one is a custom I designed for another BF member... it is CPM-3V, and ground with a full axial taper for maximum useful edge and good balance. The client has selected some very handsome stabilized wood from my private stash for the scales... I think it's gonna look really nice when it's finished :)

I will be at BLADE next month, but only as a fan and buyer. If you see a tall, goofy-lookin' long-haired guy wandering around with a dazed look in his eyes, say howdy! :D I'm hoping to get a table next year.

Blast from the past...

Two extremely challenging knives that comprised my first international custom order/sale. Inspired by a video game and built to spec based on screenshots and a fair amount of math. When the client came here looking for someone to make these for him, no other maker on the forum would even touch his idea with a ten-foot pole. I learned a heckuva lot from this job, and I'm very grateful for the experience.

I really want to see that one when it's done.
The camp knife, is it thick or thin?

I agree...and I bet it's thin. (Perhaps a THK thin, or is it a thin THK? :D)

I am particularly interested in the right end of that row of three in the middle.

Me too, Unit! I nicknamed that one the "Curly Queue" - it has to have an interesting story behind it... :)

Ok, I gotta know. What video game was this from?

That is pretty darned cool.

I bet that took hardly any effort at all.

Pretty easy once you figure out how, actually. I should point out that the profiles of those two blades were cut by waterjet based on my measured drawings and handcut templates, then I ground and filed all the bevels . I did not cut out every single tooth by hand

I just found this thread. Look forward to seeing more pictures...
I was fortunate too have the Sidekick in my hands for a few days. Very nice knife. Definitely one of the most comfortable knives I've held

Thank you kindly for the compliment, Mike! That means a lot. Comfort is hugely important to me; if a knife doesn't feel right in your hand, you're simply not going to want to use it. And then, what's the point?

Here's the SideKick in question, which now belongs to another BladeForums member... (I sent it out on a passaround to get some feedback, and this one fella plain refused to send it back to me :D)

Absatively.... The new owner got a good one. I was surprised he even sent it to me, to check out :D
