Thninking of convexing my Boker Rhino

that particular rhino had a real thick shoulder and a simple stropping would not have done a single thing to the edge . with a good thinning, it would have been like a straight razor when i got done.

I have a boker plus Rhino, and I love the hollow grind on it. To my preference, I like all small knives (including folders) to have a hollow grind. I like all my large fixed blades (including choppers) to have convex grinds. All knives in the middle (4.5-6.5") knives should have full flat grinds. Convex grinds have great edge support and retention. Draw back to me is, they never get as sharp as a hollow grind edge will.

a hollow grind is a type of blade grind. the normal edge put on a hollow ground blade is a "v" edge. i put a convex edge on a small folder for mr. dull edge and he was really impressed with how sharp it was compared to the v edge i had put on it with the paper wheels. i used the slotted paper wheel to remove the burr on the convex edge and the same with the v edge.

My apologies. I thought the topic was about grinds, not edges. I'm very interested to see how the Boker Rhino looks and performs after putting a convex edge on it.
