Thomas W... regarding assisted openers

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

Every day that goes by takes us one step closer to what happens in this book.

The stupidity of law enforcement never ceases to amaze Me, In this day and age they are afraid of a Knife? with all the weaponry they have?
What happened to Tactics and vigilance?
I guess their ultimate goal is to disarm everyone so they don't have to be armed? Indiana(LE) Man up and quit being a bunch of pussies!
"I can be sitting here talking to you and I'm ready that fast," said Danville Police Detective Bill Wright. "That's a fraction of a second."
Is He talking about his johnson? Wake up and grow a set of balls Detective Billy Wright , I can pull out meat clever (or any fixed blade) in a fraction of a fraction of a second and give You a second vagina in the middle of your scull.

Stop giving your fellow officers (or the public) a false sense of security because You banned automatic knifes , handguns, tire irons etc.

"There's no button I could push to make it fly out. There is a gray area with this one," said IMPD Lt. Jeff Duhamell. "Whether this is spring-loaded, or just has enough tension or torque on the end to cause it to flip, whether that's considered illegal, I don't know."

If Lt. Jeff Duhamell doesn't know, how the hell can they assume they're illegal??

The way I read it, you have to push a button or another devise in the
handle to activate the spring.
There's no button or devises in the handle
of an AO.

Its been said before but I'll say it again " Don't the cops have more important things to do?"
Some little old lady is getting mugged and they are screwing around with this crap!

Cops like these laws because they are an easy bust. For example, they stop a car or are called by neighbors to a house party and find an underage person in possession of alcohol. Happened last weekend in three nearby towns. Some people make it even easier by advertising the fact that they are carrying a knife (exposed pocket clip). This gives the police cause to search the kid and now they can add a felony charge of illegally carrying a knife. Upon conviction, the kid is really screwed. He has lost the right to vote and the right to own a gun. He can never be licensed or bonded for a professional career and will never pass a security clearance background check. Maybe I am preaching to the choir, but I cannot stress enough the importance of removing those damn tell-tale pocket clips from folders, carrying them totally concealed and keeping an EXTREMELY LOW profile in public.

I never understood the concealed knife thing. In Texas, we can carry any legal knife any way we want to...and guess what?

Nobody freaks out, nobody goes into coronary arrest, nobody cowers in terror upon seeing a sheath, and nobody runs away screaming and mowing down little old ladies.

I do not have any trouble with exposed pocket clips in Oklahoma.
I have lately been carrying my LARGE Lone Wolf Harsey Tactical T-3 in my right front pocket. It has a huge pocket clip. Never a problem. Then I have the small Harsey Tactical T-1 in my left rear pocket, clip exposed.
Heck, the one time I have been stopped for a supposed traffic violation, after I gave the officer my concealed weapon license and told him I was packing two guns, he never said anything about the knife. Did not issue me a ticket either.

SEE YA!
