Thoughts on quality small folders?

I carry a small William Henry every single day, in my watch pocket of my jeans. Not in the leather case they provide, just in the pocket. Highly recommended, fit and finish is up there with chris Reeve and Hinderer. They are not knives that are meant to be taken apart by the owner, but their customer service is excellent if you ever do have an issue (I never had). I've been eyeing that WH posted by someone myself, it looks really nice. The thing with William Henry is that their tolerances and F&F are the same for all price ranges; it is just the materials that determine the cost.

Agreed. There are some excellent choices in this thread, but William Henry is the cream-of-the-crop when it comes to production folders in the size range the OP is looking for. They're pricey, but they're worth it.

After seeing you recommend WH knives both on here and youtube you have me looking at them as my next big purchase :) He has such incredibly good looking designs and they arn't outrageously priced its nice to be able to get knives of that quality and and design. I love the EDC 6 that whole line looks so nice.

Yep. By the way, there is no "William Henry" at William Henry Knives. "William" and "Henry" are the middle names of the folks who founded the company. The driving force at William Henry is a world-class knifemaker by the name of Matt Connable. Personally, I'd rank Matt right alongside the best who have ever stood in front of a grinder with a piece of steel in their hands.

Just thought you'd like to know. :)

Not yet. But one of their claims to fame is their smooth-as-silk opening actions. Believe me, you won't miss the flipper.

Looks like a William Henry is in my future. I looked at some of the available models and, man, they are all gorgeous. I'll take my time on that choice as the price range goes from "steep" to "wife'll kill me". :D

And that is why I started this thread. I had never heard of William Henry before.

Just remember, the high quality is the same for all price ranges. The EDC models don't use the exotic damascus and mammoth and so forth, and are thus cheaper.

Take a look at the Cold Steel Tuff Lite. The standard version has 2.5" blade though the actual sharp edge is just a few thousandths under 2" measured. Per court decisions the sharpened edge length is how knife blade length is determined in Nevada. The design has the largest feel in the hand and most secure grip of any small knife I have tried.

Al Mar: SLB
Benchmade: Sequel or Shoki
CRKT: Eros 2
Benchmade/Lone Wolf: Paul Presto folders
Mcusta: Tsuchi
Spyderco: Leafstorm

Seriously well made knives. All have less than 3" blades, are very high quality and cost MUCH less than a William Henry.
In fact, you could buy all of them for less than a WH.

Thanks, guys. Will take a look at those as well. I've got my research cut out for me thanks to all the great suggestions. :)

You could move it up a notch...

I have the Ares too (the version like the Scout), love the Pikatti.

You might also look at the spyderco caly 3, as well as the sprint run damascus version of the same.
