Thoughts on the TOPS Tom Brown Tracker?

Not cheap, but Dave Wenger makes a version and they are very well made with an exceptional leather sheath or kydex. He also does them for PDW. I have a smaller and a larger version. I think they have a little more recurve than the normal version, meaning the tip and front grind angle down a bit more, and he has a hollow grind on the flat part of the blade. Like I said, not cheap, but these are full customs (in the sense Dave does all of it himself) and look and feel like it.

Well I placed an order for a larger one. Why not. If it feels like a brick or a gimmick, I'll just send it back.

I think the TBT is the Judge of knife world.

Obviously late to the game, but...

The original Beck WSKs are really fantastic multi-tools. If it's going to have a saw-back, it really should be cross-cut, tho'(referencing the TOPS). I picked up a used TOPS WSK that had the sawteeth removed, for ~$70. I used a Worksharp to thin the cutting edges, and Kwik-Strip to remove the coating finish. Good beater-truck knife, well suited to tearing things up and/or breaking them down.

Candidly, the TBT has always struck me as a knife that tries to be so many things that it fails at being any of them. I'd never own one, but that's just me.

I have a Beck WSK and a Martin

Totally different knives than the tops in feel

As for ultimate bush knife ......... not for me but still interesting knives

I backed out of my order. I think the knife is kinda cool, but all the puffery of Tops' marketing and the questionable exploits of the designer...just not worth 200 smackeroos.

Bought a new multitool. I think I can press it into more service than the tracker.
