I just today reached 1,000 likes on Bladeforums. Crazy! They've not all been for Traditional Forum posts but hey, who's counting? Anywhoo, I feel inclined to give something back to the Traditional Forum in the form of my first GAW, since the Porch is where I've spent gathered so much inspiration recently. The knowledge, passion, enthusiasm, and awesome photography on display at this forum is par excellence...Well, I suppose this is my way of saying thanks for all of that.

As a measure of gratitude I'd like to pass on a knife I was able to acquire recently from @paulhilborn as he graciously helped move a few knives for Big Biscuit's grandson, Bo. I didn't know Bob in the least and never had an opportunity to correspond with him but I did read more than a few of his posts and I (like many) was always impressed by the man...I probably don't need to ramble on about that!
But, I'd like to put this knife into another's hands because I don't find myself using it and just don't like having knives just sitting around looking pretty.

No rules for entering, other than having a dozen posts on the Traditional Forum before this posting. Just respond here that you want to be considered. If you want to post up a fond memory of Bob that would be pretty cool but not requisite. I do ask that you either keep/use the knife in perpetuity or love on it for a bit then pass it along to another knife lover, for free. Honor system here!

I'll leave this thread open until Sunday, March 3rd EST PM and then will pick a post at random and contact the winner for shipping details.

That said, here's the knife, a GEC 15 caplifter in Gabon Ebony. I haven't sharpened or used it except to pop a few tops and it looks unused prior to my ownership. Backsprings sit a half a hair low but it's only detectable by feel. Badge pin, tube, wax paper included of course (but not my strop :) ).

Thanks for all hospitality I've received on the Porch and everything you folks have taught me, directly and indirectly!

I'll go ahead and burn the first spot here. I love this pattern.

However, if I were to win, I would actually want to give this knife to a friend who has admired my Beer Scout. So as long as you don't mind me passing this one on, I would love to be in.

And just a traditional relevant picture, because pictures are fun.

I'm in. Thanks. Seems like we should just like you post to enter, though, that gets you to 2,000 likes faster ... ;)

Fine knives, abbydaddy! Yes, post up relevant pics, no problem- it's one of the things that keeps me coming back here over and over.

I recently picked up a Beer Scout, too. It was a user for the prior owner so I find myself carrying it because someone else wore the new off of it. And, no worries about the winner passing it on to someone who will enjoy it- it's really a classy little knife.

Very generous of you. Congrats on the 1,000 Likes milestone. :)
Not an entry.
Good luck everyone. :)

Not an entry thanks, a Thousand Likes is like a thousand blessings or even, a thousand island salad dressing :D

I already have one of these excellent knives albeit in another garb so I'd like to stand aside and let it go to somebody who is without one.

Congratulations on the 1k and thanks for the generous give away.
Bob will be remembered by many for being a great guy and a full fledged knife knut but a great guy first and foremost. This the super cool British Army Knife that Bob gifted me.

Wow. Thanks for the shot at this.

My first Barlow came from a very generous trade with Bob. I got to learn a bit about him from that exchange. He was easy to like, and I was sorry to see him leave us.

The reaction here to Bob's passing was incredible to see. I'm proud to be a small part of this "porch". Thanx for the shot at a great knife A.D.--KV

Count me in

Congrats on the on the likes count. I never got the chance to talk with Bob. He seems like he was a great guy and it is awesome that you guys are keeping his memory alive.

I’m in. Very generous of you. Sheepfoots (sheep feet?) are my favorite. I’ve actually been considering buying this very knife, but haven’t yet pulled the trigger. I never corresponded with Bob, but did enjoy his contributions to the forum.
