Thread and yes I see the irony ;-)

Unless they have recently changed their former "recently changed" policy, they have a pretty healthy minimum first order and also unless you have a retail sales tax permit they won't sell to you at all on the wholesale supply side. I'm not sure but they may sell to you at full RETAIL, but minimum order restrictions still apply. I don't have any idea what their policy is as of 5/29/18. All I know is I had been buying WELL ABOVE the minimums for nearly 18 years and they scrapped my account because I did not have and would not get a Retail Sales Tax Permit.
That was a personal decision on my part.

In fairness to Weaver, they were probably getting out in front of a potential problem for not changing sales tax to out of state customers . The Sales tax permit makes that a moot problem, so I can see their side very easily. You cannot buy wholesale without the Tax permit and if you do arrange to buy at the higher retail price you would have the added burden of your State's tax or Ohio's tax rate.

Oh, and they don't seem to have the 1.4mm at any price.

Thanks Paul, I had bought and returned thread to them not too long ago, could not return thread that I had opened :( but I was pretty sure they wouldn't take it back.... The lady there was very pleasant and went as far as checking with the folks that use the thread to make things there and they said that the 554 thread I use to buy had changed brands and agreed that it was not the same any more.

This 1.2 thread I have I think will work well for me, got a roll coming in as that small cardboard wrapped 25m one was a little silly, but might be handy if you are only doing a small job I suppose.

Edited to add....the unmitigated gall of them treating you in that fashion! I know other fellow leather craftsman that also are not too fond of Weaver either, for one reason or another...
