My thrifty Mora knockoff. Less than half of what a pack of smokes cost. You know it’s gotta be economical if it’s a cheaper version of a Mora. Still though, it’s slicey and built good. Advertised as a bait knife at the local Wally Mart. Pretty decent beater, do anything with it knife. IMG_4993.jpeg

Did you refinish that to bring out the grain?
The knife originally had a black plastic handle. The wood is from a branch my dad pruned off his dogwood tree, then let sit for a long time in a pile. The grain was like that naturally - all I did was put some mineral oil on it. Some of the surrounding wood had started to go soft, but this bit was still solid. Here is the other side:

I also took a couple other pieces that were more solid, but with less interesting grain, and made some handles with those (pics to come).

Toferner medieval style Celtic/Norse/"Viking" style non-folding pocket knife with "As Forged" finish in a modified by I OEM sheath.
I added the tuck-in flap so the knife can't fall out. (it did once while I was sleeping.)
I've had it on me pretty much every day since mid September, 2021, as a neck knife, only removing it when I get in the shower.
Under $20 when I bought it.
Blade steel is a Czech spring steel, mainly used as load bearing springs on locomotives and rolling stock. It likes a 10° per side/20° inclusive edge.
