Thrifty Thursday... Cheap Traditional Knives

Here's the 7th of 8 new thrifty knives I bought last December. This one is from Rough Ryder. It has red micarta covers and both lambsfoot and sheepsfoot blades are lockbacks.

"You stole it" would not be a exageration.

Reminds me of a deal I witnessed at a pawn shoppe in Davenport, Iowa, 1974 (i was not involved in the deal at all)
Guy brought in a old English Holland & Holland 12 guage sxs.
Got $350 for it. About ten minutes later, another guy comes in, asks about that shotgun, offers $800 for it. The kid behind the counter takes the deal. Buyer keeps a "poker face" on as he exits with his prize.
Kid behind the counter FINALLY realized he did not check the value before buying for $350 or selling for $800.
I don't no if he was fired. He got a HEEL of a deal when he bought it for $350.
Not so much when he sold it for $800. The gun's value was $93,000 in 1974. 😲

I will guess the pawn shoppe owner was ... "unhappy" ... when he learned what his son sold that shotgun for.
