I think I've shown the Kent stockmanoid before. That was a Camillus economy brand, so the similarly all steel no-name jack was probably a thriftier knife also. They could have charged me extra for the stronger materials.

badge/bomb shield under $9, whilst the diamond shield (perpetuating the "diamonds are rare and expensive" myth/tradition) was just under $15.

Another type of knife that you can pick up relatively cheap are the melon / fruit / sausage testers... similar to TL-29's and pruners, you can get some of the good old brands without breaking the bank. This Schrade Walden one is a great old knife in near mint condition and was $15.

I had to try out this pattern as I've never held one. It was worth the 20 bucks for a bone handled boat anchor.

Markesharp I'm tempted by that one. I do like the sunfish/elephant toe/British rope knife/Whaler/emergency spatula/pocket axe/ or whichever of the 75 or so names it goes by pattern.
Interesting blade combination. How well do the work together in "real life"?

I bought this hoping to rebuild it in brass and wood, but the spring is not secured with a pin - it is held in place by two little crimped tabs on what looks to be a folded steel inner handle. Otherwise it is not a bad knife. Shown here with a Buck 110 for scale:

I like to think this was a cheap knife in its day, but maybe you had to pay a premium to join the avant garde. I got it thriftily, anyway.
